My boy has been diagnosed with this in his fetlock and both hocks I’m gutted.
Has anyone experienced the same?
He’s had his fetlock injected with steroids and the next stage in 2mths is to fuse 2 bones in both hocks.
It doesn’t sound good but I’m trying to be positive

I totally feel for you I had the same news last year. Unfortunately arthritis cannot be cured only managed and over the past twevele months I think we have tried most treatments. These include the steroid injections, arthramid injections and was contemplating having alcohol injected into the hock. Unfortunately for us he was a unsuitable candidate and he has had to retire from the show ring due to him having daily pain relief that is banned by FEI regulations. We just manage him daily now making sure he has plenty of turn out not to stiffen and that he is kept happy.
Good Luck xx

Aw thanks..
Yeah it’s not good I don’t think he will be entering the ring again sadly.
He isn’t very good with injections hence the fusion of the bones but will see he has 8wks to see if the steroids work then further investigations
