A good ride off between the highland and the show pony in the pony supreme championship. I agree with the result (Highland got it) and I have nothing at all against adults on m&m ponies in open competition. However, I did find it a little unfair that a child was directly pitted against an experienced adult for the supreme title in a high-pressure ride off.... It's also worth noting that I don't dislike the ride off, I just found the situation the show pony rider was in a little unfair..... But hats off to everyone enjoying themselves in the rain!

If the child is capable of winning at RI then I don’t think the supreme ride off is anything to worry about. It’s all experience.

not that i saw it, but it should really be judged as "child on child's riding pony" versus "adult on m and m" thereby taking it into account - who was the best in their particular category. my daughter and her pony (only a local show but a good judge) once won the in hand championship after winning the young handler class. so the judge assessed them on their category, not on whether she had the best pony or showed it the best. anyway i agree if a child has won a class at RI they will be fine in the championship!
