Hi my daughter who is 9yo has a lovely 12.3 pony - and would like to try some wh classes over winter , after some success at local level .
Am I right I’m thinking nursery stakes is the class most suitable and where do I look to see what’s on and where?

Yes Novice Nursery Stakes would be correct for the child & pony & also possibly OpenRestricted Nursery Stakes (jumps a bit higher than in novice) These classes are run by BSPS so look on their website for lists of shows by month to find some that would be suitable. You can compete as non members, but if you are in the qualifying positions if you have never been members before then you have 7 days to join for the qualification to be valid Hope this helps

Also if your pony is a registered Mountain and moorland breed , you can do the mmwhp , and the training stakes . Some children do both and Plait and unplait depending on the timetable.

Hi - ponies always measure bigger at home IMO so unless you have had the pony JMB measured it is very possible they could compete in cradle stakes too. As someone said, if the pony is a registered M&M then you can do both plaited and M&M classes and the training stakes too. Take a look at the NPS and BSPS we sites for your local area shows.
