Hi
I am trying to build up my ponies neck. She has a good back end but her neck is lacking. A Friend said to try a chambon. Any other recommendations will be gratefully received.

You need to do lots of schooling and hacking, with your horses head worked in a long and low outline. Plus lunging the same.
Also feed hay from the floor.

I like the Pessoa, not really used a chambon. Does the chambon get them working long and low?

I use a chambon, brilliant lunging aid, if you lunge properly and get the ponies hocks underneath it. It allows the horse to stretch and lift up its back and whithers.

Correct me if i am wrong but I believe a chambon to be a similar predecessor of the pessoa.
It lacks the bit that goes round the bum but works in a similar way at the front end.
I have used them on showing yards previously and they have always worked well in getting your horse to work better.
I am considering getting myself one now actually as struggling to find a decent pony sized pessoa that doesn't cost the earth and wont confuse me when trying to put it on!!!

use a chambon and you can also strap your pony's neck with a strapping pad. use it when you're grooming just for 5 minutes&use the same amounts of straps on each side of the neck to keep it even.

I prefer the pessoa, chambon looks like they cant get caught up? pessoa safer option. working long and low every ride for first 20 mins defo.
I need to be taught to strap!
