The judging of the senior stock in the section b's today illustrated that the judge was way out of her depth. She took forever to pull the first animal in and then ages to pick the second, more time for the third and then seemed to lose interest after number six. She did not look to be at all comfortable - discussing each pony with the steward at her side. She then proceeded to take a coffee break after the foal class before the championships whilst the waiting female stock shivered in the driving rain for several minutes. Where was her consideration for the welfare of these young foals? Her stallion class judging was a sight to behold. No pattern;type or through line just a mixed bag with a host of disgruntled exhibitors and disillusioned onlookers.
This was a sad day for the breed.

we just got back so chuffed after the mud bath of the main ring how i stayed on my feet i still dont know .
we got 3rd in the 3 yr old colts sec a with dukeshill mario, shown off grass no stuffing with hard feed he just gets top spec light and grass dragged in from the field last night bathed rugged and shown we were so chuffed he was a true star it just proves you dont have to lock them up and have them jumping out of there skin on corn to get placed .

omg- the main arena definately a mud-bath. I was amazed at how the handlers led the senior D stallions- and how well the ponies coped in the mud.
Even though ground was so terrible- it was nice to see the show continue and the amazing crowds of spectators supporting the competitors

I was very disappointed with the B judging I took a yearling filly in and a 2year old filly. They both went brilliant i couldnt have been happier with the way they behaved and went. I was putting myself on the front line but not in the top 6 purely on i know breeders and faces come first!!! but to be put on the back line and not even looked round to see if she had missed anything was a joke, yes there was big enteries and anyone would find it hard to judge but i think procedures should have been put into place for example once you had done your trot she would say front line or back so you roughly knew where you stood and then pull out the places when the show is done. Or get a marking system even if its a tick or a cross on the number What ennoyed me the most is the money you spend, stupid stabling system and flooded stable my to fillys where so wet i was nearly crying for the state we had to put them in and to not be given the time of day in the ring!!! Anyway i brought them home yesterday because it wasnt fair. I spoke to my sister after her class today which she did come 9th and she said i didnt expect anything else im pleased with her but the judging is terrible atleast i won last year when it was good judging and a gold medal!! dont get me wrong some ponies were beautiful and worthy winners but where was the movement and welshness she was on about and consistency?

sec d has just gone supreme ! well done who ever you are i must say all the moaning about the judging has just gone out the window all four were beautiful ponies and i must admit although i had personal reasons to be rooting for the secA had i been judging the class i would have gone for the d too . The D was stunning! Judging of the D's was spot on IMO, he went for his type and stuck to it! All the D's, who came back for the overall D, where very similar and the male champion and reserve where son and father And whoever said the A judge didn't go for movement, the A champion put hairs up the back of my neck, it put the D Senior Stallions to shame!!! Moved out of it's skin ;D ;D

The Champion Section B stallion was not only by the judges stallion Dubbel LL's Swifty (now deceased), but on her website, "Gayfields welsh ponies" she is thanking the owners of the winning stallion for making the import of Swifty to America possible. The handler also did very well with ponies on the Monday, either winning or finishing in the first three in huge classes. Didn't she reward him well!!
