I was just wondering where everyone keeps their best rossies - we stopped showing several years ago and my husband made some really great display cabinets - he really enjoyed making them and wants to make some more and sell them on e-bay or where ever!! If anyone would be interested I could post a photo of ours on here and see what people think!!

Last year we were thinking about selling our house so de-cluttered in preperation. This meant taking down all the rosettes and sashes I had displayed on the landing.
I stropped and sulked at the time but now have got used to the minimalist look and as we have also now redecorated the living room I dont really want to clutter everywhere up again.
However, showing is a big part of my life and I am proud of my achievements so dont want to hide all signs of it away forever!
I remember many moons ago when working at a top arab stud, they had a really good way of displaying their best rosettes for their top horses. They had a fab photo of the horse, in a huge frame and around it the rosettes were pinned. The whole thing was glassed in, if you know what I mean?
I would be interested in something like this, as a tasteful compromise.

We used to have them "glassed" in in the stables, except it was a huge sheet of transparent shatterproof plastic, each pony had their own rosettes in the stables, plastic used to keep clean and spider free, it was inside a wooden frame with hinges so everytime you won some more, lift uo and pin to back stable wall, may need to do it in the new stables as we really are running out of room at home!

What a lovley idea!
I buy metres of cheap ribbon from a haberdashery and pin it vertically to the wall-the rossie hooks pierce it easily and if you hang them close together enough no-one can tell they're actually on a ribbon.
I'd really love a proper cabinet for them though!

cabinet description
Our rosette display cabinets are manufactured from very good quality recycled pitch pine with a Danish oil finish, the door has a small wood surround and inset into the door is a 2mm thk clear acylic sheet, the back is hardwood plywood faced internally with a green baize fabric complete with brass hinges a wooden knob and a catch, the support for the wires is plastic coated steel and the wire (for hanging rosettes) is high tensile so as not to break easily.
two sizes are available:-
The large cabinet is 1000 mm x 600 mm x 80mm deep with 6 horizontal wires capable of holding approx. 30 average size rosettes or a number of sashes.
cost per cabinet is .....................................£65.00 each with £20.00 p&p
The smaller size cabinet is 500 mm x 600mm x 80 mm deep and we have 4 horizontal wires capable of holding approx. 15 average size rosettes.
cost per cabinet is ....................................£45.00 each with £15.00 p&p
These cabinets are ideal for storing and showing your most prized rosettes and sashes they can be mounted either left hand or right hand opening or horizontal, they can be wall mounted in your tack room, porch, hallway, kitchen child's bedroom or any other place you may choose to show your best rosettes and they will look good anywhere.
These cabinets will last for years and require only minimum maintenance such as wiping over with an oily rag of danish or teak oil yearly (takes literally 5 mins) will kepp them looking their best.

Those cabinets sound a great idea for the best rosettes. I use a grid of white plastic covered mesh from my local garden centre. It's about 1m x just over 1m and hangs on picture hooks. The "holes" in the grid are about 1.5-2" square. My boy didn't have many rosettes so they could be hooked on and spread out but as he's got more I've been able to just move them about and put more on. Cost about £4 I think.
