Carrots have been a £! a bag for years. This year they are being sold for £1.95 a bag. at feed merchants in the North West. What has happened? Can't blame the summer it has been great for carrots. How much are you being fleeced for them?

Better still, if you must feed them, feed ORGANIC carrots as the regular ones, being a root veg, absorb so much artificial crape.
Same goes for what you feed your family!

I am still feeding the ones I grew myself. Think they were 25p a packet of seeds from Lidl or Aldi. Totally organic and in soil manured by the carrots eaten the previous year!

My pony's are very spoilt. I work for one of the biggest carrot growers in the uk so i get funny shaped ones and overpacks free !!! ;D ;D ;D The price there selling for has increased alot in the last couple of years as price of growing, Harvesting and transporting them also has.

Can I just ask another question about carrots. Several people have told me not to feed them to fatties as they have too much sugar. I laughed at first, but have heard it too many times now, can someone advise?

Never had a poorly pony from carrots yet, but yes, it is true apparently, no carrots for fatties! Vet told us that one, or apples!
