Yes must say great but long day had. Arrived at Vailiants at 7am and arrived back at the yard at 11pm, after classes were running 4 hours behind. Some quality animals there today. Really liked the FR - what a superstar FR pony and a talented jockey. Also like the Highland that won the Large Breeds. Well done everyone. My only qualm would have to be kids running up and down the galleries on both levels, I witnessed one jockey come of her FR that could well of been due to kids running up and down..... Please I am all for having fun as long as people stay safe and not put others at halm.

Thank you everybody for the lovely comments, i'm so proud of Ash and Elmo, her dream was to ride round to simply the best with the spot light, and she has now managed it twice in 2 weekends, what a star. We didn't get anything in the championship, but would like to say huge well done to Steph and Victor off here, they won the m&m championship and looked fab, don't know how she did in supreme, anybody know??
Also very well done to cerys - nici- in the lead rein, what a little star your pony was, you must be very pleased with your 4th in a strong class xx

Also very well done to cerys - nici- in the lead rein, what a little star your pony was, you must be very pleased with your 4th in a strong class xx Thanks Faye! Yes I'm thrilled with Sammy's performance yesterday - he's a little star He's not a LR pony and has only ever had a few practices at home and about three classes at shows, as he's going to be Cerys's first ridden pony. However we managed to qualify for FOC and I thought it'd be good for him to experience the atmosphere of a big show on the lead first, as I had no idea how he'd behave - first big indoor show, first large audience with cheering and wooping! I was thrilled that he behaved and did a lovely little show, so coming fourth in that very large very strong class was beyond my expectations for him. He then went on to come second with Gabby (who backed him for me earlier this summer) riding, in the M&M Small Breeds class. I thought he did the best show in the class - including a stonking gallop!!!), but the little Dartmoor that beat him was stunning and deserved the victory. Very proud of my baby boy ;D Well done to Ashleigh - I was busy looking after Sammy between his classes, so didn't get to see the FR class until the lap of honour. Ash just had the hugest grin on her face while she was waiting to do her solo lap - lovely to see a child really enjoying her win ;D And a huge well done to Steph and Victor. Watched you in your class, Vic was just awesome! Couldn't stay for the championship, but not at all surprised you took Supreme. What an amazing year you've had with Vic - congratulations to you both

Huge well done to Cerys, Gabby & Sammy for their super results in a very strong class. So glad we were there to support you but to be honest we wouldnt have missed it for the world after your tremendous support for Madi & Lilly last year. ;D Can i also say a huge well done to Ash as me and Madi congratulated her from upstairs as she just had the biggest grin on her face, we were so made up for her and i didnt know who she was until Nici told me later on. You have a beautiful pony Ash. xxx

We had a lovely day again yesterday despite the weather. Tia won her class and was section champion so then we had to wait all day for the supreme (much to OH's disgust!). Festival staff remained cheerful all day as usual, and they managed to keep it running more or less to time, so we weren't too late into the supreme. We didn't get anything in the supreme, but were very proud to be there alongside some stunning horses. Well done to the lovely miniature who took supreme - a truly lovely little horse.
Back there again next saturday for another long day!

Yes Ash won the m&m first ridden, was very proud of her, she doesn't do the opens with him as he has no desire to canter with the others for any length of time, and certainly won't entertain a gallop, lol he's a true first ridden unfortunately. We saw Jade and Cherub (sp) do their show and it was lovley, he did get a little excited on the lap of honour but she handled it really well. ok, there was 6 in the catalogue - springbank saucerer, patchwork puzzle, claredale sam, pantmar just right (didn't show), shilstones rock demetrius and cosly troubador. The shilstone rocks pony won i think, and claredale sam (shetland) was 2nd.

We were there again on Saturday and had another great day. My mare Calamity Jane II officially retired from showing after winning the in hand cob, the section championship and reserve in the ridden cobs. Jeanne Bulloch made us feel very special when she announced Tia's retirement.
We really enjoyed our day; everything was well organised, the staff and stewards were really friendly and helpful as usual, and they went out of their way to sort a stable out for us when we got through to the Supreme of day.

well done the winner well derseved so nice and well mannered a credit to you , enjoyed it at the supreme of show although along with the other in hand competitor we felt we wernt given a chance to show off the animals not even a trot down long side the riddens got a go round and an individual show too seemed unfair . hope that is sorted for future competitors in the supreme . also only one judge when two were down to be there . so nice to hear them mention bradleys sad loss , disapointed to hear someone slating our mare as we left collecting ring after class you know who you are and maybe you should think before you speak as you dont always know whos listening .

I agree with you Cayo that it wasn't fair on the in hand competitors last night.
I only found one thing disappointing this year and that was that Linda Cadman was not there to judge the Supreme on Saturday night, so wasn't there to stand up for the in hand horses that she had put through. We were, however, given a chance to show them off down the long side.
There was an incident on Saturday that several of us were pleased to see - a very well known obviously over height cob was not called into the top ten because it was over height. The lady came back in on the horse to question the judges during the prize giving and was sent out, and was later seen arguing in the office about the points sheets. Finally, judges have stood their ground and not placed someone who was obviously trying to cheat.
