We had to have our lovely stallion Excellente (Selly to his mates) Put to sleep today. He had been very ill since Monday and our vets tried everything to save him. I and Liz will miss him so much he was such a stunning boy. Very luckly for us every mare he covered this year is in foal and we are expecting 4 next year. I hope one of them is a colt to carry on from his stunning father. Goodbye Selly and god bless Xx  |

Such terribly sad news today, teddydog. He will always be a stunning boy, whichever world he is living in, and it's unbelievably sad to know he is no longer here. I've been looking forward to our Selly baby very much, and this will make the foal all the more special

I am really sorry to hear this you must be absolutely devastated. I had two mares to send to him come march time and am really disappointed. I cannot imagine how you must be feeling. I hope you get your colt.

As i said yesterday i cannot express how devisatated i am for you.
I am so pleased that you decided to put Em (Perfect Alibi) to him, and that in 2010 she will have his foal.
As ever i am sure that Em will do the right thing, and I am sure will produce for you the colt you dream of.
In the dark weeks after Caroline's accident, the news that Em was in foal for the first time (and to Excellente) was the one thing that made us all smile.

A big thank you to everyone for your very kind words. It was a shame for Selly he was not used more in his younger years as he has produced some stunning stock.
He will carry on strutting his stuff and knowing he is so lovely.
I concider myself very very lucky to have had this boy for the last 2 years and we where hoping for many more but thats what happens! Our other TB stallion Tom has some very big shoes to fill!!
Those of you expecting Selly babies treasure them i know we will.

Im so sorry for you but looking on the brighter side Im please that had been as sick as a parrot or I would most proberly been racing down to you to collect Tom. I do know how you feel I have been stuggling with my stallion for the last six months. He has some good days but yesterday I thought I was going to loose him. These thing never get easier but at lease your going to have some lovely babies |
