Today the old horse I have looked after for the past 2 yrs is to be pts......Im so upset, not because he's going, because it really is his time, but because he is such a lovely giant, who at 34 has been ignored by his owners all his life and that is why we have been watching over him in recent years... Im going to make him a really big feed with all his favourites, but at the end, because I have to move my youngster out of the field, I wont be with him. I know he is scared or doesnt like the people who are to despatch him and its given me cause for worry and a sleepless night..Rip lovely man I hope my mum is waiting for you over rainbow bridge xxxxxxxx

He is so lucky that you took care of him in his later years. WE have Twinkle who is 36 and she came to us a a rescue case. She has had a fabulous few years and when she goes e shal miss hr dreadfully but will console ourselves, as you must, with the fact that horses know nothing about tomorrow - he will go happily with you and know nothing about it. Good luck!!

Dont feel bad, you have given him some TLC in his old age and i'm sure he really appreciated
Ponymum, dont feel bad, i'm sure the old chap really appreciated the TLC you gave him in his final years. brought back memories of our Astro, PTS 15 years ago age 34, makes me weep even now, i'm sure he knew you loved him........

How are you today ponymum? Still very sad, but to hear of another superstar die at an early age, gives me the rest assurance that he had a long life, and for that Im glad....

It shall get better. Find a pic of him and have it enlarged and treat yourself to a lovely frame to put it in.
