Anyone know of Mrs B McGrath/Mrs A Hawkins and what they look for in M&M?[/quote Mrs Hawkins is one of the nicest ladies around. She is a 'proper' horsewoman. Likes everything true to type. Very hot on manners. I wouldn't hesitate to travel anywhere she is judging, as she will be fair.

Mrs Dale, daughter of Dales Breeder, Rodger James.
By the way, don't think Mrs Impey ever had a pony at olympia. Is a Highland Breeder, though.

Have to say went to Cumbria and agree with what was said, she was very fair on my lad - had a bit of a blip where he took off in to canter instead of trotting diagonal and then went disunited??? She did drop him some marks but wasnt silly about them. I actually liked the idea she dropped him marks, totally right he messed up and others didn't

I have alot of time for Robin Avery, he always gives the competitior a good look, right until the end of their show. He has been known to bring ponies right up the line to win.

Can you tell me what are the following M+M judges like Mr J Middleton MRs D hesford Mrs A Berryman-horne Mr J helme I watched Mr Helme judging C's & D's in hand last summer. He appeared to base his decision on action rather than conformation, condition or behaviour. Those going like hackneys did rather well !!!

I've only shown under Robin Avery once and ended up moved down the line exactly to where I should be after a wrong leg.....he asked if I knew why I was there so was obviously willing to offer an explanation if needed.

anybody know of Mrs J Higson ( Lancashire) & Mrs T Monaghan – Hulatt (Bedfordshire) for srts?? We watched Mrs Higson at Windsor where the Deanhills 128 was miles better than anything else on the day but was not even considered for the championship so maybe worth avoiding at a big show.

in my opinion mr robin avery is one of the fairest judges on the circuit and is always ready to answer any questions that you may have. i have always found that if you go and look at the marks it gives a clear indication of where they are won and lost. also onlookers sometimes do wear rose tinted glasses especially when asked "what do you think" .i would be one of very many people that would travel any distance to be judged by someone as fair as him!!!

Mr Avery has a wealth of experience and I have always found him to be fair, knowlegable and consistent. Competitors shoul realise that you can't win every time and accept the judges decision or else give up competing. Judges like Mr Avery are worth their weight in gold and give up their time to promote the sport, it is unfair for a disgruntled competitor to attempt to discredit him.
