My daughter has just bought herself a connemara and he is rising three. She wants to take him to a couple of shows and do some in hand classes with him and I just wondered which in hand bridle you should use. Should it be one with brass on the brow band or just a plain one?

For in hand showing I would use a good quality in hand bridle with brass fittings and a neat bit such as a nylon in hand bit or metal magic bit.(the small cheek rings of these look neater). The browband could be either plain leather or brass,Brass browbands probably look better on the stallions or those withg a bolder head where the plain often looks better on small neat heads or fillies.Try looking on www.carouselsaddlery .co.uk for in hand tack.Hope this is helpful

Would definately stick with a plain browband, but brass buckles are really nice on inhand bridles

We sell an English in hand bridle which has brass buckles but a flat noseband with no stitching and a plain noseband. They look exceptionally nice on a native pony - we use them on ours. The cheek pieces are 5/8th in wide.I can send you a picture but only to an email address - it won't go on here for some reason! They are £66.50 plus £5.50p p and p. You can pay by Paylpal for next day dispatch to paypal@equestrianmarketplace.com.
