As BSPS are moving to Arena UK and PUK are at Newark the NPS have the chance to put on as good a show at Malvern for the Show Ponies in the South as BSPS have done at Peterborugh.
The facilities at Arena UK don't match those of the bigger showgrounds so advice to the NPS would be to get its act together fast and prove it can run the show that the Show Ponies, Hunter ponies and In Hand ponies WANT to win at.
If Peterborough isn't available due to costs then Malvern is the ideal outdoor venue. The NPS should act to support the Riding Pony Stud Book breeders by enticing the Ridden Ponies to come and stay [not everyone wants to treck to Bakewell these days] by expanding the range of classes and make the NPS Championship Show the very best show for British Bred Ponies in the UK.
The opportunity is there & the door wide open.

I used to compete at the side saddle championships at Malvern, following on from the NPS and always detested the ground, although the setting is beautiful. At least Arena UK with its big outdoor arenas is a joy to ride on! It's a shame everyone is moving from Peterborough and yet the Equifest is moving in! Strange!

The NPS are evidently going to put up some really good prize money for the BSPS Show Hunter & Show Ponies this year so if they include Intermediate sections as well I think we will try their quakifiers instead, stay over at Malvern for a change and only go to BSPS for the HOYS classes. We went to the NPS for a day last year and stayed until late to watch the evening performance. Have to say it was far more pony friendly than BSPS and we had a great time. Peterborough was a class show last summer but Arena UK is such a horrible place it doesn't compare.

The NPS show is a viable alternative to BSPS and we've decided to go to Malvern again this year. Can't face Arena UK. NPS have well arranged car parks and a special day park which makes it easy to leave if you want to go to Bakewell. The stabling and entries are far cheaper and let's face it the judges are the same wherever we go. At least we'll have a lorry with a view and it'll seem lke a holiday. Malvern get's our vote as long as they put on Intermediate classes. The organisers were much younger - sorry BSPS - and very friendly and it was great being able to turn up and make extra late entries.
