Emmie Collier won the WHP and took champ.
It is quite wet, people were getting towed out in some places. If it dries out a bit it should be better but it was quite bad yesterday.

Intermediate results 1st Mountcaulfield freedom (champ) 2nd Smalland Rialto 3rd Radway All Talk 4th a nice brown 14.2
Larges 1st Vicky Hesford Marshbrook St George 2nd Think Sharlans Top Hat and Tails
Int 1st Banjo 2nd Samantha II (?)
SHP 13HH Adam winbournes lovely chesnut with Emma Holder (champ) 2nd Warleigh Small Talk
14hh Chloe Willet on Thomases Rowanoak Next Generation
15hh Joseph Thurston on Thomases chesnut forgotten name! (res)
SP 12.2 Gilbert Scotts pony (champ) 13.2 Thomases bay with Chloe Willet (res) 14.2 Radway All Talk
Going was a bit deep down the long side and there is no where to warm up bar the collecting ring. They ran really late with the classes. Intermediates didnt go in until about half six and then they rushed through them giving everyone a set simple show again!

15hh winner was Hamptonne Fair & Square - belongs to Binks' produced by Debbie Thomas. Already qual HOYS. 2nd was Yealand Myth
There were a a lot forward in the ISHT, bit less in the ISRT. Big classes overall, but not many in the LR SHP.

Just reading results of isht and saw horse called Samantha II was second and then 6th in the large srt. How odd to be placed in both?

Manhattan was 6th in the large srt. Same producers so perhaps just a mix up by admin in the results. They have show a pony as reserve/reserve in the whp section that did not compete at the show!!!

Yes the second placed in the ISHT was defintely a chestnut mare, but the horse in ISRT wearing the same catalogue number, 805, was a dark brown one. I noticed it at ringside - Samnatha was catalogued in both classes but clearly wasn't the same one in the class - don't know who the '805' was in the ISRT. Must have been a mix up allocating back numbers or putting entries into classes.

"Par for the course" with their admin!!! I think that's harsh and unneccesary - bear in mind that they were extremely accommodaiing and were contacting exhibitors and processing entries only a few days before the show - when they should have had their hands free to concentrate on the proper job. As someone who handles entries (not for the Royal), when ALL exhibitors get it correct, legibly and on time, 100%, they might have reason to whinge! I know there was a problem but the Royal have done their best to sort it - I can think of plenty of event organisers who would have said bad luck get stuffed - bad PR or not! If the Royal management had NOT accepted the extra entries, resulting in very big classes, perhaps the Equine ring would have finished before 8pm last night - spare a thought for stewards, judges and officials! Sorry if deemed to be offtopic

When i was there on sun i didnt think there were any rings on grass except of course the main ring. The surfaces was split into 2 rings which were called the equine ring. Yes the stables were very sodden then and many lorries were towed in and out but there is hard standing there for some lucky lorries and the drive in is all hard as well. The only nightmare was warming up as there was only a tiny collecting ring on the surfaces which will be fun with all the hairies! The going on the surfaces was a bit deep in some places (edges) but great apart from that x
