I have an 8 month old female kitten/cat who i have had since a baby and also an 8 yr old dog who both get along very very well.
I would however as always like another cat - a boy. Mi-mi's mum is having another litter due in 4 weeks so I could get her a half brother
BUT
I am scared that she will not like him or try to kill him etc. I am quite happy at the moment being able to leave the back door open when we are in and her coming and going as she pleases ( dont have a cat flap yet). With a new one I wouldn't be able to do this.
Do I not get one and be happy with my 2 adorable animals or get one and hope for the best? OR do I look for one of similar age, keep them in togeather for a couple of weeks??
HELP me...!!

I'd stick to what I had.
I had my last cat for about 6 years when my friend got a new kitten and I desperately wanted one - and nearly did get one, but my existing cat was sooo happy on her own and I didn't want to risk getting another cat incase she hated it. Then I'd have to get rid of the new one - which would also be heartbreaking.

I had 4 dogs and a 3yo cat.. got a kitten last year and kept kitten in crate for a couple of weeks, then let it out under supervision, now its part of the family..dogs adore it so does older kitty...
if you manage the introduction well, it shouldnt be a prblem

Look at the thread , dinner please. Age 14-8months all have their ups and downs, but really can get on if you give them enough time.

I have 6 cats at the moment, got the sixth a couple of weeks ago, 12yrs, 6yrs, 5yrs, 1yr, 1yr and 6weeks Older ones are all female and don't see kitten as a threat (male) If you do get one, don't interfere when introducing them let them establish their own pecking order. Really depends on your cats temprement. Hope this helps x
