I am posting this sad request on behalf of a friend. If anyone hears of a foster mare can you get in contact with pamela on 07813 145404 she has just lost her CB mare, she broke her leg while on the way to the vets with an impaction after foaling so very sad  |

yes as far as i know, she is a friend of a friend so i was trying to help out in this sad situation. |

Can I just thank everyone we are completely and utterly devastated to lose her.
The power of the Internet has been amazing - a lady called me yesterday morning that her mare had foaled prematurely - we went over and collected the mare and foal (poor thing was born dead and had a mummified twin with it) We took them over to Oakham where Jack our foal was and fostering commenced - within 6 hours the mare was trying to rip the partition down where Jack was being kept - he is HER foal and had to be with her! She has taken him on and we are so pleased that he is going to get the best start in life and the mare has a lovely foal to nurture.
So thank you for all your thoughts and help - and thank you to a complete stranger for trusting me with her lovely mare - and to Oakham veterinary staff who have been so wonderful too at such a difficult time
Harrington Gala aka Donks RIP and run free you were so loved.

That's great news ssm - I felt quite emotional reading that as I know that Donks meant the world to you. I hope Jack grows up big and strong and is able to give you more happy times.

Ahhh i am so glad things have worked out and what a lovely mare to take to jack so easily. My thoughts are with the mares owner for the sad loss of her foal donks (RIP) and also with jacks owner for the loss of her beloved mare (RIP). It is so nice that something positive has come out of such a sad situation Yes the internet really has got a good side  weldone horse gossip and all forums who help this sort of amazing thing happen!!! forgot to say does becky now know?
