If you stick to the pictons helen your pony shouldn't look too out of place for a novice. I love the pictons because the ponies are all so green and there is room for error for once, there is so much pressure on to have your open ponies going perfect.
What breed is your pony helen as maybe it is a late maturer. Highlands usually take a while to mature and some of the welsh.

Post by What Stallion on Nov 17, 2006 14:47:15 GMT
Just to keep you from the suspense anymore I have got quite a few ponies for next year already. I have a grey connemara called Dior Marches On who is 4 now. A 4 year old palomino section C who will probably be for just the novice's I also have a 3 year old section D but I'm not sure what he will be doing yet. I have Governer and Judge again for the opens and Judge will start his worker debut. From January I will have a little coloured out that will be for sale around Feb. Sam Roberts had a lovely roan B out that I think it will do really well. Like someone said earlier I don't think the connemara she has is for the flat ridden as it does look more of a worker. There is a nice chestnut stallion out and about too. what stallion is that? is it yours? you cant just say there is nice stallion out without giving more details!!! you know what we are all like! lol

Well I don't want to speak out of turn and say the wrong thing but:
He is liver chestnut and belongs to my friend Lisa Barsoum but he is not particularly going that well yet as he is a man lol!!! I don't know what he is called as its something hard to say and he is about 15hh. He is Ffoslass breed and is a nice chunky type with bone and I wish he was mine lol.

I wld differ about the roan b dont like its movement behind or front but is beautifully put together and flashy. i think the connie is a cracking whp and sam will do a fab job with both anyway so they will look and go there best and this is only my opinion anyway and early days. I don't have anything new! looking forward to seeing everyone elses I am sure they will all do fab. Aimee hope u have a successful season with the judge again as he is beautiful. Hoping to see you collect some top titles this year with him.

We have Wyken Llwynella back out again next season after her maternity leave. Also Wyken Lady Jasmine will be out later in the season to do a few novices and junior riddens if she is a good girl
Broughton Black Prince will be contesting the workers - already doing double clears SJ
Georgie James has a C Stallion

amy ..was this stallion at the welsh show at BCA? If so i saw him, and he is to die for! I also wish he was mine! I think I was in the same class as him, he was pulled in first?
I saw him do his show and he was babyish, but I think once he gets the hang of what he has to do then he will be very hard to beat. I would like to know his name.
I am new to welshes, usually do highlands! So I am glad that yoiu dont have another highland lol

Aimee and blackknight1 - sounds like you both have your hands full for next year !
What is the 3yr old D Aimee, is that a homebred baby ?
I have a 4yr old Sec D that I am planning to do Pictons on next year, who is still very baby at the moment but after a winter of dressage and bit of hunting should be ready for the shows next year.
Lexy.

Sams connie is mainly a worker but I don't even think she thought it was anything special??? I think that you will find that the connie that you have seen Sam out on is owned by a family member & she has it to do some workers on. She has it out for flats as a bit of experience whilst she gets to know it, as now is a good time for them because it is "out of season" & she is not full with clients ponies. Why does everybody have to be so judgemental, i enter my pony in dressage through the winter but that doesn't mean it will be a grand prix dressage pony. People that do workers often show jump but that doesn't mean that they are going to be on the pony jumping squads. So Sam Roberts has a connie which is for workers in flat classes, so......................................
