I have a black oriental female and she is always snorting and crackling when she breathes and has terrible problems with food, she is on special food from the vets as she is intolerant to alot of things, and there is nothing wrong with her lungs airways etc, this is the first i have had of this breed, has anyone else experienced these problems with orientals.

My bengal has food allergies. All the food from the vets didnt work. I ended up buying BURNS Hollistic cat food and it has transformed her.
My GSD puppy is the same, all the prescriiption diets were no good, yet once we put her onto Burns - she was like a new dog.

I've got an orinetal - from Siatan stud - what a nightmare we have had. in total I have had five from her. One had slight brain damage, one heamoraged out the back end and died. When I got Aria she feel ill within days of getting her and ended up on a drip - no reasoning to this but she ended up with diarhoea for about a year - she would run around dribbling everywhere, we still to this day never got a dianosis, Irone that I got at the same time as Aria also was very skinny and vet couldn't find anything wrong and felt that was the way he was as ate, played etc no probs. He then ended up with lukemia (aged 3) and had something else and had to be put down. So we have two surviving girls aged four and nine - On several occasions I have contacted the GCCF who could not give a sh1t who breeds what as all the cats were related to some extent. Shocking experience. As much as I love the breed my vet has said siamese are a bit funny and inbreed. They have the sweetest nature and so loving, but I have since gone over to the Savannah breed. Great breeder who loves to hear how the cats are - always happy to talk and always replies to emails!

Ill try that cat food thanks LP, she is on Royal canin sensitivity control at the moment, but it is so hard keeping her away from the other cats food, the tinker. Skye how aweful for you what problems, i get mine of a very good friend of mine who breeds black and white orientals, i have only had a problem with this one, but its a pain in the neck, and she smells all the time her litter tray needs cleaning at least 3 times daily, she is a house cat and refuses to go outside which makes it worse. the vets said they would take a sample from her but its definatly feed related as antibiotics dont do a thing.

Luckily - all my cats love the Burns cat food, so they all share it!

Good luck - I can imagine what you are going through. Scrambled egg works wonders and just a tea spoon of yoghurt by itself. Shame she won't eat chicken as its nice and light for them.
I'd love to know what finally got Aria sorted but I honestly don't know what changed but I've never hada problem with her in the last three years!
