Our 9 month old cat has gone missing, we are devastated. He never stays out and last night didnt come home last saw him at 8.30pm. He also never wanders far as he gets spooked easily and likes to be within running distance of the back door! We have searched everywhere, i looked until midnight and my mum was out until 3 then again at 4.45. No sign. Been out this am again on foot and in the car, shouting endlessly but nothing. He doesnt go to people either, my other cat who is now 5 went missing for 24 hours when he was younger but he is more street wise than cookie. Anyone got any further ideas? He is microchipped, have rung identichip but closed! Also rang local vet..nothing.

Keep walking, knocking doors showing people pictures - the more you spread the word the more eyes out there who can spot him. If you haven't go thim back by tomorrow register him on the missing cats register. I lost two cats - got one back 6 weeks later 6 miles aways and the other 4 months later 1/4 of a mile away. Both were completely lost and never stopped purring when the came home. Do not give up. Keep searching - he will be cowered down hiding somewhere if he is timid. I really feel for you x

Thank you for that. He's really small for his age and so sweet which makes it worse.
I think he is as you say hiding somewhere or trapped.
I have registered him already in desperation.
Thanks again.

Our boys have gone missing in the past, they have ALLWAYS come home. Hoping not to state the obvious , but check sheds, cars , wardrobes . One of our boys was shut in our friends horsebox for 2 days, (he was fine), and the other got taken approx 40 miles away, and we got him back because he was chipped. Its a horrible time, but finger xd! GOOD LUCK! X p.s. ring CPL they are usually open all weekend.

Aw hope you get him back soon - my Savannah got out the other day (she's a house cat!) and was missing all day - I thought someone had stolen her - I eventually found her two doors down cowering by a gate - she was so scared of being out.xx

Thanks skye..glad you found her. We have put up posters this morning, i got up first thing, left the garage door open all night in case he came back, stumpy was in there but no cookie, mum was in tears. Printed some more off and going door to door and going to ask people if they will check for me, asked everyone on our road and told a few others to keep an eye out. He doesnt go far, so if he is stuck he will be close to home. His meow is so quiet, he churps alot! We were hoping to get a phone call from the vets this morning if he wasnt home hoping someone had handed him in. Just want him home now Thanks everyone.

Hi. Still not found him We have been out every night, put up more posters, put posters through doors and in shops. We had a possible sighting off a young boy who works in the local shop, he said that he was around his cat possibly on sunday but he was a drip! Hoping that he has been shut in someones shed/garage and he may return this weekend. Dont want to get my hopes up on that incase he doesnt.

So sorry your cat has gone missing, hope he comes home soon. My oldest cat goes missing for two or three days but then always comes home totally oblivious to the distress he has caused!!

It's a horrid time when they go missing. My cat went missing for two weeks. The neighbours a few doors down went on holiday and turned their cat flap to one way only to catch their cat to take it to the cattery. So Clover was trapped inside! I was so pleased to see her, but she had trashed their house! A year later she got looked in some other neighbours shed one weekend and they only found her the following weekend. Don't give up - I printed flyers and put them in every door in the village - it didn't take too long to do.

i really feel for you lillicob.... a few years ago two of my then younger cats went missing and i searched high and low for them....i would not give up. i walked for miles calling them both...reported to the CPL...RSPCA...all local vets and shelters ect...printed posters..you name it i did it... got a phonecall about 10days afterwards from CPL saying they had one of tehm handed in, found wandering near a very busy dual carriageway...they had 'rescued' her and thankfully contacted CPL.....happily reunited!!!!... her brother was still missing...and to cut a long story short...turned out he was 'taken in' buy a household in the same street as me!!!! ....and the first poster i put up was directly outside THEIR house!!! He does now live with them...but it didnt stop the worry and heartache ....Keep trying Lillicob..... I know what your going through and its soo upsetting not knowing if they are ok or not... Also....i ended up with an extra cat as somebody had found a little b+w kitten the same time mine went missing and brought it to me saying they had seen my posters and 'here you are' !!!! so i took this tiny thing in and contacted the CPL/RSPCA ect...ect... Nothing for a few days..untill a poster appeared about a missing tiny 'male' kitten.... turns out it was theirs and asked would i like to keep 'him' as it was the last of the litter and they wanted to find a home for it anyway.... He was a She and Twiggy is now 4...

Thanks penstock. Makes me feel slightly better hearing that people have found their cats. Were yours microchipped? I rang the vets etc and they said that the first thing they would do was scan a cat handed in. Starting to think that someone like with your cat has taken him in and fallen in love with him.
I found a kitten a few months ago meowing and wandering down a main road near my house, i stopped the car and he came to me so i kept him for the night and took him to the vets the next day, he wasnt chipped, then on Facebook my friends neighbour had put on that she had lost her kitten, she lives around the corner from me so i took him round. Just wish someone would find him. Heard nothing off missing cats register, apart from a crazy woman sending me an email.
I will ring the RSPCA again now.

A neighbour rang before and her gardeners found Cookie under a bush. Think he has been clipped by a car. We have just buried him. RIP little man

So sorry. I have had 3 cats killed on the road over the years and it is devastating.
Somehow though I find it harder when they go missing and you don't know if they're alive or not.
RIP Cookie

Thanks LP. You are right.
Just wish whoever clipped him would of come forward and said something. Dont understand how someone could run over an animal and leave it. We were lucky to have him for the time we did. I had him off a friend who had him and his brother but his dogs killed the other one so we aquired Cookie. He was on the semi wild side when we had him and there was a rather funny moment when he first saw our dogs and attacked my face..wasnt funny at the time having a cat clinging to my cheek! He then grew to be best friends with the dogs and loved them. I can honestly say he was the nicest cat i have ever met. I love my other cat but he is a miserable b****r at times!
Cat even look at a pitcure of him at the moment.
Thanks everyone.
