It has taken me over three weeks to be able to come on here and post this thread about our beloved welsh d mare MADDIE. As some of you may remember she had had laminitis since January, and had all the treatment and care under the sun. She gave us a superb filly foal which has had to come to terms with losing its mum at 10 weeks! Maddie was more than a horse, she was a person, and we are devasted that she has had to be put down, but after long conversations with our vet, and a second opinion, it was decided that it was for the best, and a kind option for her. RIP Maddie we will never forget you, and will look after your foal for you, and if she turns out half as good and loving as you were, we will be very lucky. Run free Maddie, like the wind in the trees, with no more pain, and the grass is the greenest you have ever seen, and help us to keep your little foal safe. Will love you for ever xxx

So sorry to hear that i can sympathise with you it happened to my section D. Good luck with your foal and i hope she give you endless fond memories of Maddie. She will live on in the foal, keep us updated on how the baby gets on. xx

iam so sorry to hear of your sad news,but maddie will live on in the beautifull foal she produced for you,hope she brings you lots of happiness and love...dont let the foal make you feel sad,try to be happy in all you do with her...thats what maddie would be saying....

Thanks everyone, yes i know that the foal is part of Maddie, and we are very lucky as she is a beautiful foal, and at now 15 weeks, doing very well, and growing fast! It is very hard some days, as the foal is very like her mum, she has the same elegant head, and a lot of her ways! But life goes on, and I know Maddie is looking down on her baby and helping me to keep her safe xxxx
