So perhaps people feel that they cannot openly discuss how they feel about comments made by certain members of this forum. And that is probably why they just smite. Just my opinion! |

If it's the instance I think you mean, it happened late at night and I missed it!!!!
But from what I understand, it was a guest being offensive, not a sensibly expressed opinion. We do have rules, but they aren't there to stop people having a point of view. It's just that there are ways and means of putting your point of view without being offensive at the same time. Sometimes things are just plain hurtful!
I would hope that we try to keep things balanced, I certainly think long and hard before deleting, and if I have to delete something I PM the member concerned and explain why. Sometimes it can be for their own protection as some comments can be construed as libellous etc. And the mods do consult amongst themselves before intervening, and we don't always agree with each other!! So hopefully we end up with a balanced view!
With regard to thecremellosociety, I think issues from outside HorseGossip are being brought onto this forum, and Emma has suffered a long standing campaign to remove all her Karmas! Even after winning competitions, they just disappear! No-one would mind if it was just one or two, but it must have run into hundreds by now, so someone is really determined.

However l do think your right and one shouldn't be bringing issues incurred on another forum to this and visa versa of course..
As for the long campaign against Emmajane , l really don't know about this but that certainly isn't my feeling about her and like everybody she has her own point to make and of course should make it. However this doesn't mean to say that she should do it in such a way, which is indicated in the presentation of herself as being truely prime and proper and butter wouldn't melt. I am afraid those in the know will challange that.

Giddie, I wasn't referring to you as offensive, the incident I am thinking of was an anonymous guest. Also I don't use any other forums, so can't comment on what is said on them, but what I meant by outside issues was, away from the internet altogether.
DPL with regard to the karma thing, we did have a poll about whether to get rid of the karma, I will see if I can find it and have a look at what the results say, I think it was in the lounge.

I completely missed the post on my pony, which i wouldnt have minded seeing and caring folk on here wouldnt tell me what it said, i honestly missed it, but if it was out to stir then maybe best it was removed or the person pm me wth thoughts on my pony, i just want to thank all that have brought mine karma back up into a fab figure, and Glad their are nice people out there |

Oh it maybe the fact that i get my arse out at fayre oaks after getting everyone completely ratted on Tequila, or the fact i have places other than my ears pierced, if that what makes me less prim and proper thats fine, but if its an attempt to make me look anything other than honest i think you are very wrong, one thing that has got me SOOOO much hassle in life is honestly ! I sometimes wish i could bloooooody lie then i wouldnt get so much crap in life !!!! But please make it clear where your prim and proper references are coming from and who the so called people in the know are, because of a matter of fact i refuse point blank to have people close or be in anyones pockets as half of them are as bad as each other ........ I did see that thanks, but personally it doesn't bother me one jot about wether I have Karma points or not, other than to have a joke about it.
However it obviously does upset some people whatever the ins and outs behind the 'Phantom Smiter' striking, and the very fact that this forum in particular seems to be much more 'liberal' in its attitudes (not knocking it btw!) leaves this karma thing in a position to be a catalyst for potential animosity that may not otherwise occur.
As has been said many times before, its not what you say but how you say it - it is perfectly possible in most cases to put your point accross without being offensive and for the most part things are done that way and any potentially acrimonious posts are moderated by the Mod Team very well. It just seems to me that the Karma system is being misused vindictively as a way of getting under some people's skin.
IMHO if something like this is being misused then it should be withdrawn, temporarily at least, to allow things to settle down and hopefully the person(s) misusing the facility will get bored and give up.

dpl the smiting doesnt really bother me a great deal, as i just think people havent got much better to do, but when i appear to be accused of being something, which im not sure what yet as the person havent replied, that gets my goat ......
I havent smited for a long time so dont think anyone should assume if you make a comment soemone may not like that they will smite you, i prefer to exalt and give people karmas rather than smite.
I hate the fact that people think they know things about people, i have been told loads of stuff about people, its very eye opening at times and take alot with a pinch of salt, sometimes shocking expolots and rumours, i do keep them to myself 99% of the time, and alot are about people you know, its amazing running a show how many people tell you things im a bit niave and im like your having a joke with me .......
But people need to get the facts about people right, i suspect the supposed people in the know, are just aquaintances as can count close freinds on 1 and a bit hands !!!
