Going on last year when we entered Bronheulog Mindy (yearling) we were in Class 3 A - Filly Yearlings, 2 yr olds & 3 yr olds not likely to exceed 148 cms at maturity. Class 3 B is for the over 148 up to 158 cms. We were given a not before time 2.50pm and went in individually in the order listed in the catalogue. Walked the triangle, trotted the triangle all in hand and then went loose, caught them and stood her up, not sure whether we didn't stand her up before walking the triangle in hand. After all the ponies/horses in Class 3 A & B had been seen individually we all went back in together and were placed and the score was read out with the Judge's comments. We picked up the mark sheet later. The 1st & 2nd of each Class then went forward to the Championship.

I noticed at Alsager BEF a pony didn't show any trot when loose and once caught the handler then took the opportunity to trot the pony in hand to where they stood and managed to show the Evaluators some movement which they did watch.
Last year's SPSS photo, Mindy is the little chestnut Sec B plaited with OH and she was awarded a 1st Prem & came 3rd in her class.
Forgot to say that when you enter you have 45 words for the commentary ie breeding, any performance achievements and for Mindy I wrote about her pedigree performance related winnings. This is read out whilst you are doing your individual show so everyone knows including the Judge who the pony is - bit different to showing!
