Exactly Overbent!! There is absolutely no way i would give anybody permission to drug test my child on a showground. If i ever thought that the sport i participate in had become so bent that to ensure fairplay CHILDREN were subjected to drug testing then i would very soon be out of that sport. If you have proof that this proceedure is needed Twigged perhaps you should log in under your own name and bring it to the attention of us parents who would, i'm sure be ready to make sure the offender was dealt with in a proper, legal manner.

It's quite interesting to watch reaction to a topic put up to promote discussion. Horsegossip hasn't done this for months! Looks like many valid comments have been made on here whether for or against. Heresay maybe but no doubt there is some truth. Whatever our thoughts this thread will allow everyone reading & having their say be vigilant, watch out for mufties slipping off to hospital after dodgey tablets, ponies passing out after ACP's, people stashing cash under their car seats after parties at big shows, boys in blue shutting their eyes in collecting rings, handlers running faster than any Olympic sprinter, grandpa's gulping back the pro plus before a ten thousand mile trip home, stewards on the spliffies in the tea breaks and overbent crippled with calcium deficiency having knitted up so many threads. Sore from laughing! Must be time for a paracetemol !

sorry to say it would take a lot more than a bit of something illegal to make me run like a Olympic sprinter, I think that would take a act of god, and the mental picture off stewards passing around a splif with their dreads blowing in the wind would be a sight to behold, kids doing a line of coke up their ponies necks whilst waiting their turn to be judged and mummy saying wipe your nose dear you seem to have had a bit of a powder accident, I would just like to know after all this drug taking we are supposed to be taking how to we afford to keep our already expencive ponies and how do we manage to stay standing long enough to look after then

Simple ,Halfpass, we are obviously all drug dealers/barons who pay for our ponies from our ill gotten gains selling drugs to children

As always overbent brilliant and funny you made me smile after a s---y day at work. Twigged I disagree I would be livid if somebody had suggested my son be dope tested at a show or anywhere else, dont know what other parents feel. I know where my child was and what he was doing and the other kids who where his friends. I am not niaive and am aware that drug taking is a huge problem in all walks of life however I have not come across it in the showring.

I like that overbent! very good!
I think the police would be more concerned with an area near where we live there guarnteed to find at least one positive test in each household! they could be like sales reps! Door to Door!

at overbent !!! Seriously ...yes am sure there will be a % of kids (teens ) drink at night at championship shows , and am sure some adults take Relentless / Red Bull and pro plus to keep awake when driving long journeys ..and i bet there is an abundance of Bachs Remedy flying about too ......but i think the idea as quoted in the earlier part of this thread about Olympia riders taking Cocaine is absolutely crazy !! Me thinks someone has heard a rumour and is trying to 'out' it on HG ...so come on Time and Twigged ...make your self a member and dish the dirt ....

I think time is on someones case (this seems to be the in thing at the moment) and wont stop till they have had a really good attempt of bringing them down, but it wont happen.
Probably related to a certain Area controversy. If they feel they have seen anything why dont they write to the NPS or wherever to complain, but then you dont have to write and complain anymore you can just phone up and moan and your word is taken, did anyone know that?
To even suggest that the top six riders at Olympia should be tested ad lib, just shows what planet they are on.

Lets face it most of us as kids got a bit tipsy behind the stables at champ shows it's just a shame it lost it 's appeal when we could legally do it.
