After just reading the East Soley thread which is basically about a certain human being with feelings (which I find a lot of you forget) I am disgusted at what some people have written. I know people have their own opinions but to a point it is slander. The pony is question is a stallion. How would the breeder/owner feel about people pointing out its faults, which lets face it nobody's pony is perfect, when they might want to stand it at stud in the future? Some of us are very influential in what other people say without looking for ourselves. If you think the jockey is sitting too far back and its bothering you then go and tell her instead of writing it on here under a hidden identity. At the end of the day this is meant to be a sport that we all love and spend a lot of time preparing for etc. Shouldn't we all try and make our society's come together and support one another? If your not keen on someone's horse/pony then just say 'its not for me' or say nothing at all. This sour grapes attitude really does need to be knocked on the head. I don't want this to turn into another nasty thread I am just asking that you are carefull with what you write on here as it can be upsetting. Thank you

Nat can i point out a few things if people have been nasty it is wrong, you talk of the society should they not discourage animals from being licensed with incorrect conformation this detracts from the breed spec. As a breeder why would anyone want to breed of animals with hereditary faults this makes the breed poor so why stand it or any animal at stud

Yes I understand what you're saying noticed but comments about a pony to that degree should not be posted on here. I don't think we can ever stop people for breeding for the sake of it. What might not be your cup of tea might rock someone else's boat so to speak! If a pony is as bad as someone else says rather than listen to their comments see for yourself thats all im saying. I once was speaking to a lady and she was really bad mouthing a pony saying it had no front and it didn't move etc. I then saw the pony a couple of months later and thought it was fantastic and to be honest I felt it was sour grapes as it beat their pony everytime.

As a breeder why would anyone want to breed of animals with hereditary faults this makes the breed poor so why stand it or any animal at stud I think that is a fair point, but the thread in question was being personal about one particular stallion. Feel free to start another thread about societies licensing stallions, but please keep it general.

Hi, just wondered why you dont delete those posts/threads were people are being really nasty, everyone can still see the nasty comments and by locking them and then putting a thread like this on i feel you are drawing even more attention to it.
I hadnt even seen the thread as East Soley is not in my locality so wouldnt really no anyone who attended....but now I have.

Wow, has the continual rain mad everybody grumpy!! We all know that horsey people can be particularly horrible. When we won the Picton Supreme, I had hate mail! If you don't like someone elses stallion then don't send your mares to it!

I agree fetherston. I felt I had to write something about this as I know exactly how it feels to have someone against you and to me my ponies are like my family so anyone who slates them its very personal. I know I have drawn attention to the East Soley thread but I just wanted the 'nasties' to know its very hurtful and people have feelings.

I totally agree with natalie, enough is enough of this personal abuse because that is exactly what it is. I am so surprised that the moderators allow names to be mentioned in this slanderous thread. What really annoys me is the fact that the nasty comments come from the anon sector, if you are brave enough to rip apart conformation on a pony you have only seen the photos of why not put your name to your comments. This is someones livelihood derogatory comments stick, i can only think this sort of malice stems from jealousy. Keep it friendly, or keep it to yourselves.

slagging off someone elses pony is unually always down to jealousy. Ok it might have a fault - most ponies do have, but overall it was probably the best there on the day and no doubt will be again. I have known this pony well from a youngster, and if it was soo bad then how come it been a consistant winner in hand from a yearling, when conformation, type and movement are the only points judged. It hasn't been shown by anyone who is particularly well known so the 'facey' moan doesn't wash either.

Whether or not the comments made about the stallion were true, if you say things like that on public forum that could potentially damage someones reputation - you get sued.
(And yes you can be traced, even if you post anon)

Has anyone ever noticed that the mostly critised people are ones who do well ?
This something that i feel quite strongly about , this country likes to make stars just so we can break them . Take the beckhams for example we built them up to be the best thing since sliced bread when they first started what a nice geniune couple etc.... yet when we decided we had seen them enough and that they had earnt more money than we would like we slate them and rip them to pieces for all to see. Why do we do this ? plain and simple because if we are busy finding fault with everyone else then nothing can fall at our door !
so to anyone out there has bad things to say publically about anyone else i say GET A LIFE and i hope the karma god bites you on the ass !
