I know this is not a horsey issue, but I hope as well as being horse lovers, Horse Gossip members will all be dog lovers too.
Lola was bought from what we thought was a reputable breeder. We later found out that she was sold on from an illegal Puppy Farming enterprise. The puppy has been terribly ill since we bought her in July and has been under constant veterinary supervision and a raft of antibiotics and anti inflam mediation. There are many locals who been brought to our attention who have also bought sick and dying puppies. The pups are not even registered as the seller claims in national adverts. Apparently, the pups are illegally bred in Ireland, sold to the mainland and much of the money is a front for drugs and money laundering too. My daughter has started a petition to fight agains this illegal puppy farm. Is there any way that interested H.G. members could support this petition from this web site. So far my daughter has collected about 140. We would like to generate about 500 + signatures to hand into to trading standards to try to stop this person having their breeders licence renewed at the next hearing in January.
Any ideas much, much appreciated.

Would the local vet's practices, rescue centres, animal shelters etc. support you by having copies of the petition? You may find that signatories have to be local for the council to take any notice. Also if people don't put their full address on the petition the council won't count that signature.
Have you spoken to your local dog warden? If this person has a breeders license I assume that the premises has to be inspected and the dogs kept in appropriate conditions. Were you able to see the puppy with her mum? That's usually the first thing you are told to ask, I'm wondering if they passed another dog off as the mother. If they are selling the puppies as KC registered/pedigree dogs then trading standards should step in as they are falsely describing the puppies. Also don't know if it is worth approaching the Kennel Club to see if they have anyone concerned with welfare who could help?
Sorry if you have already done all of this, these were the first things that came to mind.
