My little filly velvet, is a total showoff and loves attention. She has this odd habit of parading about, in front of any audience that will watch, with her tail stuck up vertical in the air She is not an arab, so why is she doing this all the time It looks very funny are adoreable now, but when she is an oofing great big girl of about 16 hh, it will look very odd Will she grow out of it

My yearling section B filly did it when she was a foal but has now stopped.Maybe as the tail devolps into an adult long tail it gets to heavy to stick right up dead straight, though she might still have a high araby tail carriage

Thank good ness for that. Husband was beginning to think she was a skunk!
Vet keeps calling her "pepe le pu", who I think must be a cartoon character who carries his tail up in the air?

Lots of the Welsh do this - regarded as desirable as it shows their desire to show off and strut their stuff in the show ring.

It's perfectly normal for most youngsters. I love watching my 2 year old prancing around - she thinks she is an arab rather than a Fell, lol

Ha Ha, I feel much better now! I was worried she was going to stay like that and I dont think it would be a fetching look for a horse under saddle - although at the moment it is adoreable! xx
