so many people have said new forest, yet there are so little in the hoys/ri/olympia classes?? That's because at most shows, the NF's are judged in the same class as the Connies. Connies are prettier and VERY common (as in popular to own). I like Connies but personally think they are overpriced. I'd love one but would grudge paying £3-4K when you can get an equally good young New Forest for a few hundred. I bought mine straight off the forest for £400 ! I can't wait till she is old enough to ride and give the Connies a run for their money !. It's ALWAYS a Connie who gets pulled in first in these mixed classes. My 2yo NF has movement to die for, she's stunning to look at, full of presence and beat 4 adult Welsh D's at her first ever in hand mixed M&M class. Mixed ages too, adults and youngstock. A Welsh D won the class, a Welsh A was 2nd and a Welsh C was 3rd. I'm just in the process of buying an unbroken Welsh D 4yo too now, so I guess in this order, I like New Forest, Welsh D, Welsh C, Connemara, Exmoor, Welsh B, Welsh A, Fell, Highland, Dales, Shetland and Dartmoor
