when it comes to riding whilst pregnant i think that you can only listen to your body, it will surely tell you when its had enough. I am quite envious of some of you guys on here. I am sat at my computer because i can't ride, the doc has signed me off & to be honest there is no possible way i could "get my leg over" pregnancy has knackered my back I watched a friend of mine, who had adamantly proclaimed that they were not ging to have a child, bring one into the world. She makes her living from horses & is testiment to me how much these small people are going to change our lives. So for all of you that think life will carry on as normal & nothing will change, be prepared for a big shock. Accept that actually life will never be the same & then start planning

I think it is fine physically to ride when pregnant but morally it is totally wrong.
I carried on riding the first time I was pregnant but didn't ride the second time, I'd got some common sense by then! Horses are unpredictable, no matter how quiet you think your horse is you just don't know what could happen until it happens. It only takes one fall to kill or harm an unborn child and maybe yourself. Is it really worth the risk and what right do you have to endanger another life? I think those that ride when pregnant are incredibly selfish as I was once, but I learnt the error of my ways and so should others before it's too late.

I carried on riding the first time I was pregnant but didn't ride the second time, I'd got some common sense by then! I think you are being a bit judgemental. There is scientific evidence that taking part in regular, gentle exercise such as a nice, long hack can help with childbirth. It may have been right for you not to right during your second pregnancy, but I don't think it's fair for you to infer that others are being selfish if they choose to carry on riding. I understand horses are unpredictable, but you have to let people make their own decisions. I know my ponies are very sensitive to whoever is on their backs and I have no doubt that some others are the same and look after their riders whenever it is necessary. I understand that there is a risk involved, but IMO everyday life involves risks and pregnancy shouldn't mean you have to give everything up.....unless your doctor advises otherwise.
