I remember a friend bringing her non horsey boyfriend to the yard one day, and after seeing to her own horse, she showed him some of the other horses on the yard. One of the horses she showed him was my coloured, who happenes to have one blue eye and one brown eye. After a moment of looking at my horse, the boyfriend turned round and told my friend that it was such a shame for my horse, to which she asked why whats wrong with him? The b/f then replied with well the poor thing is blind in one eye, you can tell because its gone blue.....my friend said well i have blue eyes, and im not blind!!! The poor guy looked mortified!!! As for comments from work friends...im sure they thimk horses are like cats that u give a tin of food to and let out in the garden....they dont understand why i have to go to the stables EVERY day hehe even xmas and new year

When I talk about our mob (10 of them) in work and explain their different personalities, my work collegues are incredulous! They don't realise that equines actually have personalities. And some of these people own dogs!

I just went to check on my horses before dark and they were grazing with three red deer, quite happily. I took my camera this morning, wish i had done it this afternoon. The deer just looked at me as I walked wide past them, the collie was squirrel hunting on the bank at the side of the field and the deer kept an eye on him. I gave my boys their carrots and a mint, called the dog and walked back past the deer. They just watched me, patiently chewing. Do you think deer have better manners than some people?

Ooh I would be scared of deer I'm scared of cows as well- don't like them at all. Not so bad in a barn but don't like them mooching about in a field- very worrying to me! But yes, most animals are better mannered than most people lol
