mi friends colt had two testicles and has sucked 1 back up the vet sed tht it may come back as he was so poor? she wants to no can she license him and put him to stud or not i thought not but some people have sed tht it has been done before hes a welsh A and very highly breed so she dont want to cut him! or is there anything else she can do xx

If he's a rig he wouldn't be able to "suck" one up. If he hasn't got two testicles present he can't be licensed. If he's young then the other one may drop.

If he had two then it might be the case that one has developed more than the other rather than it disappearing completely, so it may just be a question of waiting to see what happens. How old is he? I have heard of them not being ready to license until they are 3yo - they do have to have two properly descended and equal sized testicles to pass the licensing examination. On the other hand, if it doesn't descend/develop properly and he only ever has one then he would not be able to be licensed.

ok thank you all of you i appreciate it and hes only just a yearling but wasnt pulled of his mum till 10 months old x

My 5 month old colt is playing hide and seek with his testicles just now - sometimes they are both there, sometimes one and sometimes you can't see any. I checked with the vet yesterday and she said it was quite normal for them to come and go a bit......but not sure about a yearling.

they cant be licensed with only 1 testicle
