The only way you know if the pony will behave is to take it out, producers just put novices in novice classes, the reason they behave is because they are perfectly produced, end of.

this is a really interesting topic, personally I like to see baby's sometimes (this being the key word), behaving like baby's. I think they have the rest of there lives to show and it's nice that they have character and are not just robotic in there way of going. As for the picture it's each to there own, and I agree once a picture is out in the open it's anyones right to pass an opinion but as my mum once told me 'if you don't have anything nice to say then don't say anything at all' and it's the best advice I've ever received

If you put things on the internet either on facebook or on this or any other forums, you are going to get people who agree (or pretend to agree) or those that disagree. You can't say 'how lovely' to those that agree or pretend to agree and then throw strops at those who don't.
Actually the people on here who are disagreeing are giving you great advice. Personally, because of your strops and because I don't like to see 4 year olds rearing (4 year olds should be green not naughty), I would not let you ride any of mine and I would not recommend you.

What is wrong with ponies being naughty? Nothing. As long as it isn't consistent & it is fixable. The pony hasn't reared since. Did it twice. I stopped it. End of. Good rider? Yes. Take Zoe Nicoll for example, amazing rider, one of the best. She has had loads of naughty ponies that she has fixed. So would you not let her ride your ponies? If you are saying that rearing is naughty, you should watch my coloured out hacking, that is something to call naughty! BTW, have you actually seen the picture? How can you judge things without seeing it?

I would like you to show me a 14 year old that doesn't throw the ocassional strop, if anyone has one of those then you are a very lucky mother- I have known the odd few quiet kids that wouldn't say boo to a goose and found them to be rather lacking in character, passion and unopinionated (don't actually think thats actually a word ) She doesn't throw strops with the ponies either when handling or riding them, we have 3 mares- all either young, novice or tempremental and believe me she would suffer if she did throw a strop with them. Many people have trusted her to ride their ponies and each one has been improved from it. I don't actually like to see any age horse rearing, but there you go, she did it a few times, doesn't do it any more, end of, we know she is capable of it and handle or ride her with this in mind, we thought it appeared to be at moments of impatience or when she was generally p***ed off- one time for example we took her to a show and stayed for the championship, with hindsight we shouldn't have done, she was fed up after a long day and refused to load, reared a few times and smashed her front feet down on the ramp, after making her point she walked in
