Hi, I am after some advice, I have found a lovely chocolate dun sec a colt foal for sale but he has 1 very blue eye, he will be used to show inhand and as a lead rein pony and I was wondering what peoples thoughts are on these and peoples experiences with judges etc?

We find many judges like wall eyes- ours personally have brown eyes but I know of many horses on the circuit which do very well and have one or two blue eyes. I would not let this put you off

I personally dont mind them but my old perlino pony who is three years old is having her eye removed as she has cancer already. Im not trying to put you off but its something to consider in the future i know many people use eye masks etc. How do you find yours in summer Heathers???

My perlino mare at 23yo is fine too, I never need to do anything about her eyes. I do try to avoid breeding any with blue eyes - but only because buyers tend to be a bit iffy about them, as you are, not on my own account, fine with me.
The blue eyes of cremellos, perlinos and smokey creams come with the double dilute colour btw, and are genetically unconnected to those found in those with no or only one dilute gene.

OOh my section A has a flicker of blue in one of his eyes and I think it makes him look ever so pretty. Love them

I have bought 2 ponies with blue eyes, the gelding is bay and his eyes are to die for! He does very well in the gelding classes too!
My chestnut mare has equally stunning eyes, albeit can look evil when she's in a mood though lol!
I am tempted to put her in foal but she has a lot of white and not sure what she'll throw......

I have a 14 year old double dilute (perlino) who I've had for 10 years, he's never has a problem with his eyes and he's never been sunburnt either...he is allergic to buttercup pollen but I don't think this is due to his colouring
