Help please- Everytime i clip my ponies they always seem to get long cat hairs ! they are all well rugged up any ideas as i end up trimming them off after a couple of weeks is this mormal

Yes they are well rugged up - heavyweight fal and a med weight stable rug underneth!! - any ideas folks

I have this problem with long cat hairs as well. They only grow on her neck and shoulder so I guess she grows them when I am riding her as her hindquaters are covered by an exerside sheet and in her stable/turnout is always well rugged up with all rugs having full necks.I don't know how best to deal with them either.
