We kept ours in with top doors and everything shut for about 2 days, then put up bars so they could see out for about 2-3 days, then turned them out by day with others and had them in at night still with bars for about 2 weeks. Bars then were taken away and they were treated like normal horses. Of course it depends on the foal, but that's the way it worked for both of ours. Have you got yours in with everything shut up?

When we weaned my foal at 5 months he had had no human contact as his mother was rather over protective, we kept him in for 2 weeks for the 3 days all doors and windows shut. By this time he was warming to us, we managed to get a headcollar on him week 2. At the beginning of week three we let him out, he ran around and shouted for mum a bit but the was a complete angel.

You could try just sitting in the stable for periods of time and let him come to you, maybe have a bit of hay or something to offer him, but dont let him think your going to keep giving him treats. Thats what i did with mine and he slowly got used to me being with him.
