Thanks roseview.
Have to say these cats are pretty clever little creatures!

We have rescued 6 kittens in the last 6 weeks and rehomed 4 of them they were feral but all 6 have took to being domestic and using litter tray and so loving. The 2 we have kept are really playful and have found a lovely den in our Christmas tree which I have to fix everyday but it's worth seeing their pretty faces. The other 4 have gone to 2 lovely homes and will be loved. All 6 kittens will be all getting neutered. good for you.... there are really very few ferrel animals that cannot be tamed if they are young enough...

sands sorry about your mums kitten but any animal can die during an op as can anyone and his heart condition couldn't have been so bad that the vet didnt think it worth the risk. I think you mis-understood.. the vet that performed the surgery Didnt Know about the condition, just went ahead and did it.... It was the cats own vet that discovered the condition.. who knows what could have happened had the cat lived...(and not had a GA) Like i said.. this was a long time ago and perhaps the medication that would be used now, wasnt available back then. I've had an ill cat myself... seen him go downhill fairly quickly at the end, he didnt suffer in any way.... I dunno.. maybe i've handled this badly... I've nothing against ferals being given a helping hand... but to go purposefully looking for them..... if i've got the wrong end of the stick.. tell me... I've taken on animals no-one else wanted but for whatever reason had to re-home them even though I wanted to keep them. It wasnt my intention to upset people.

sorry the cat died too but maybe it's as well it went under the anaesthetic as it would have been quite painless and if it was roaming around entire it might have fathered loads of kittens with the same illness.
