I know this wont intrest most of you, but i small input would be nice! as part of co course in college, i have to have a question to investigate, and find out the answer. Or atleast come to a conclusion. I have to also include Wales, and the rest of the world. So this could be comparing something in this Country, to another.
Any ideas? My initial question was 'Does the way you cover the mare have an effect on if the mare gets in foal. Or is it down to the individual mare and stallion. '
But i think its a bit too broad and dont know how to incorporate this into wales and the rest of the world.
any ideas?!

Well the incidence of natural cover as against AI would I expect be higher in Wales than many parts of the world. Most argentinian polo ponies are bred by AI if I remember rightly! As are most sport horses, but it's not allowed for TBs and rare for native ponies. And there is of course running out vs in hand with minimal number of coverings to look at too.

What about looking at the different types of Welsh B that are being bred from the fine childrens ponies to the more native chuncky types. I am lead to believe the different types are based on the different environments in Wales and would love to know how much the landscape has affected conformation.

Hi Nikki hope everything is going well!!!!!!!! I would follow on from harrythepigs question on how the Welsh pony has been used to establish the German Riding Pony, its move forward into the teams and its input now exported all over the world!!!! But as you know from experience its a huge feature in our yard!!!!!!! Plus there is all the input of the welsh blood into the show horses which again have been exported all over the world, both as chilled, frozen and also horses in general!!!! The Welsh bloodlines in general have been hugely influencial and benefical to so many countries.

I think the question needs to be tidied up Something like
How do the different types of insemination processes affect pregnancy rates in pure bred horses and ponies compared to part breds?
That way it gives you a chance to examine pure breds like welshies as well as the modern sports horse types around the world!
Hope it is going well
