A final will be held at the BSPS Summer Championships in August at Arena UK and qualification will be awarded to the highest place competitors at this show. This show is designed to be open to all and welcoming – please come and have a go! There will be lots of people on the day to help and encourage newcomers. Judges will be using a microphone to give their thoughts and explain their decisions on the day to aid competitors and spectators. Competitors will also have a chance to talk to the judges to find out what they need to improve on for future shows. 1. BRIGHT STARS LEAD REIN Ponies 4 years old or over, not exceeding 128cms to be shown on the Lead Rein. Riders not to have attained their 8th birthday before 1st January in the current year. 2. BRIGHT STARS FIRST PONY Ponies 4 years old or over, not exceeding 128cms. Suitable for a child’s First Pony off the Lead Rein. Riders not to have attained their 10th birthday before1st January in the current year. Bright Stars Mini Pony Championship Open to ponies that have been placed 1st or 2nd in classes 1 & 2 3. Riders not to have attained their 17th birthday before the1st January in the current year b) Ponies 4 years old or over not exceeding 148cms. Riders any age 4. This Competition is open to stallions, mares and geldings four years old or over. Ponies must registered in the NPS British Riding Pony Stud Book, Register or Appendix, the GSB, the AHSB, the AASB or registered in the main body of their respective Mountain and Moorland stud books. Part-Breds are eligible provided they are entered in a Breed Society Stud Book. Pony not to have been placed first in any Affiliated Ridden Show Pony/Show Hunter Pony Class prior to the commencement of the current Winter Series (excluding Leading Rein or First Ridden). All ponies in this class must be shown in a snaffle bit. Riders any age except stallions- see NPS Rules.
CLASS 17 Ponies not exceeding 133cms
CLASS 18 Ponies exceeding 133cms but not exceeding 143cms
CLASS 19 Ponies exceeding 143cms but not exceeding 153cms
Pure Novice Ridden Championship 1st & 2nd from classes 17 to 19
CLASS 20 NPS CHECKLEYBANK MOUNTAIN & MOORLAND NOVICE LEAD REIN WINTER CHAMPIONSHIP. Mare or gelding 4yrs old or over not exceeding 122cm riders not to have attained their 9th birthday before 1st Jan. in the current year. Ponies must be registered in the main body of their respective Mountain & Moorland Stud Book. Pony not to have won a first prize of £10.00 or more in any Leading Rein class. To be shown in a suitable snaffle bridle, the leading rein must be attached to the noseband only. The reins must go directly from the bit to the rider’s hands. Riders must have attained their 3rd but not have attained their 9th birthday (riders ages are as at 1st January in the current year)
CLASS 21 NPS T.C. TACK & THINGS MOUNTAIN & MOORLAND LEAD REIN WINTER CHAMPIONSHIPS. Mare or gelding 4yrs old or over not exceeding 122cm riders to have attained their 3rd but not to have attained their 9th birthday before 1st Jan. in the current year. Ponies must be registered in the main body of their respective Mountain & Moorland Stud Book. To be shown in a snaffle bit, the leading rein to be attached to the noseband only. Reins must go directly from the bit to the rider’s hands.

Mountain & Moorland Championship 1st & 2nd from classes 24 to 27
Rules
ALL RULES AS PER 2010 BSPS RULE AND SHOW HAND BOOK. BSPS RULES MUST BE ADHERED TO AT ALL TIMES. The following classes are qualifiers for the BSPS Winter Championship Show, the 1st, 2nd and 3rd prize winners will qualify in the Novice classes and 1st Pony of Show Hunter Type class and in the mixed height novice classes the 1st, 2nd, 3rd and 4th prize winners will qualify. In the open classes the 1st, 2nd and 3rd overall and the three highest placed restricted animals in each class will qualify, and in the mixed height open classes the 1st, 2nd, 3rd and 4th overall and the four highest placed restricted animals will qualify. All qualifications stand provided the pony is registered in accordance with BSPS rules 23 & 28. Riders on restricted animals MUST wear an armband when they enter the ring.
This show is affiliated to the National Pony Society and the NPS affiliated classes will be run under NPS rules. Classes are open to Members and Non-Members of the NPS, but Non-Members will need to become Adult Showing members to enter the finals at the NPS Spring Festival 2011.
The NPS General Rules for Showing apply:- In each class the three highest placed ponies, not already qualified, within the first six places, will qualify. Winnings in the 2009/2010 Novice and Pure Novice winter Championships will not debar ponies from the NPS 2010 Mountain and Moorland Novice Ridden competitions. Neither the BSPS or NPS nor the committee, any judge, steward or any other official shall be liable for injury or damage to any person, animal, article or property. It is a condition of entry that each exhibitor or competitor shall indemnify the organizers and hold them harmless against such matters aforesaid. Correctly secured British standard scull/riding hats No. EN1384 PAS 015 (USA) ASTMF 1163 that meet current safety standards MUST be worn at all times when mounted. The committee reserves the right to alter the times of classes or the Judge if necessary. All objections must be submitted in writing within 30 minutes of the completion of the class to the secretary with a deposit of £15.00. Only tack permissible in the ring in BSPS classes is allowed on the showground when mounted. Unmannerly behavior towards officials will not be tolerated. No exercising in the rings, anyone doing so will be disqualified. No entry fees will be refunded, all horses or ponies must be 4 years old or over. Mares and geldings only unless otherwise stated.

Please please please attend Paws & Claws Fundraising Show. It is for a very worthy cause & is held where I stable my ponies! I will be attending & I am really looking forward to it. The people that are running it are lovely lovely people & it will be lovely to have you all their to support them!

ILMP-will try to attend as your only round the corner from us, but all depends if we can get there as not sure if parents will pay for box to go to a smaller show thats so close even though it's for a fabulous cause! Will try my very best x
