Personally i rather taking the Lorry! Because i think its more exiting hehe, dnt ask why and theres room to change into your riding clothes, and i love taking them up the ramp, and they jump up! And when you go to more than one day show, and ours has a bunk bed and like sleeping in it!! and its not a pain havto sleep in a tent or caravan!! But with the Trailer i guess it is easier to take and if your only taking one pony!! My mum says she much prefers to drive the jeep and trailer!! Which one do you guys rather? xx

I much prefer the lorry, more room and if the weather is bad it makes life much easier, however if I am travelling one and going local then I use the trailer, often the smaller local shows dont have wide enough entrances to get our HGV in, and I only just squeezed onto one ground this year with less than an inch on either side.

I have a trailer, but wish I had a lorry! The living is what appeals to me, as I want to take the horse to shows this year that involve staying overnight. But I think I will have to sleep in my towing car, as usual

Lorry without a doubt! I can't go backwards with a trailler ( that's what I tell hubby!!) so NEED my lovely, sparkly, little lorry lol Anyway, feel much safer in lorrry and don't have to keep checking that I'm still attatched to the trailler lol

I have had both and not had much chance to use the wagon yet but on the few occassions we have it was brilliant to get changed in.. make a brew and just keep warm ... must add though that was thrilled when i first got my little trailer... it took us all over the country comfortably and made me a better driver lol... was sold on to a horse gossiper who i hope is now enjoying it too xx

:)lorry. Always had a lorry though due to weather and family illness sold it and last summer used the trailer. Awful, loading the car up, organising the boot, and with two kids !!!. Aiming to get a lorry for this year. Another tranny or a good old dodge !

I loved Horace my little old Dodge - he was fab, everything we needed in a small compact space - slept 4 and carried 2 ponies and only about 15ft long.
Really struggling to find a replacement for him after he was stolen.
Can't do trailers though - they're ok going forwards but I cannot get my head round reversing them! Also I wouldn't like to have to drive a 4x4 every day, just to be able to tow a trailer a couple of times a month.
So lorry for me everytime.

I have had both and at the moment a trailer but the 4x4 has just kiffed and I am debating a lorry...but 1- dont know if we can justify the running costs for the amount of times we go out right now and 2- I need a bigger car anyway for all the stuff we carry about , pram horse supplies etc , and 3- cant seem to find the right one for my budget If I had more funds a lorry would be fab though especially with small children the living would be a Godsend !

I cant decide? i like my little horse box with the living in for shows we stay over at or have evening performancies but i do miss my trailer for the long distance shows, i find it more comfortable to sit in the car for long journeys. if i win the lottery il have both!! xx

i use both,i have a large trailer with living which is handy but i do prefer the lorry is that an equi trek you have ? down to cost as a lorry is just too costly to run my 4x4 is my main car but i dont have far to travel daily so fuel is low. BUT if i had the money i would have a lorry!

Heehee, I have never heard someone say they prefer a lorry because it's 'more exciting' before!! But I totally know what you mean!
I have a small 3.5t lorry - decision came down to practicalities really - it would have cost me jsut as much to take my test and buy a 4x4/trailer as it would to buy a small lorry, and I have a fairly long commute, so didn't fancy running a 4x4 every day..!! But by choice I would probably always have a lorry anyway - I love driving mine, and I like the convenience of being able to keep some of my kit in there. It's so quick and easy to get out and about - not just to shows, but if I fancy a quick hack in the forest one evening - no hitching up or anything, just shove the horse in and off we go!
I only have a groom/tack area, not full living, but it has a comfy bench seat and plenty of storage, and I only do day shows, I don't stay away anywhere (well, I went to riding camp last year but accommodation was provided) So it's perfect for me.
Horses travel brilliantly in my little box, and I can keep an eye on them from the cab whilst driving, which is another considerable bonus.
