I am so annoyed that some drivers are so dangerous, and irresponsable  On monday my mum was driving to work when a stupid little boy racer drove into the back of my mums 4X4 it looked just like a broken towbar but it had actually shattered the 4x4 thingy. Anyway he turned around and whizzed of before mum could get his registration. The car broke down and it cost £300 to be fixed so it drives 2 wheel drive and know it will cost £1000 pounds to put a whole new 4x4 system in it, cant go to any shows now, just because of this careluss idiot. |

All I can say is that if he drove into the back of a heavy car with towbar on and did that much damage, he will have done far far more to his own car.

Obviously not as he didn't stop - unless he had no insurance or shouldn't have been driving. Just that some natural justice will result from the amount of damage he will have done to his own.

I hate stupid drivers so much !
Once i was riding my youngster out on a hack , on his own , up a country lane ! Bear in mind my youngster acts like a loon at the most ridiculous of times ))
And because the road was narrow i had a cue of around ... 4 cars behind me ... i started trotting to go up the road a bit to a lay-by , and suddenly a car , shot past at around 50 MPH !!!! past all 4 cars and me , !! He was around .... 1 foot away from my foot ! ( my whip touched his car )
My pony leaped through the air , into a small ditch and freaked . !!!! This car just kept going . didnt even hesiatate to slow , !!
luckily the other cars stopped and helped me out , and we arrived safely back at the yard -
But on the way back we passed a connemara stud - and guess what was in the drive way -!! the exact same car ....
Took his number plate and reported him to the police -
Got a phone call a week later saying he'd been fined for dangerous driving as a couple of other horse riders reported him from around the same area
Also turns out he owned the stud !! - STUPID !
How stupid can you get .

The roads are terrible now, to drive on let alone ride on, my yards on a main straight country road, repeatadly when i indicate and turn up my drive way cars over take!!!!!!!!! I had two boy racers do it the other day right when i was turning in,and he bibbed his horn, needless to say the air in my car turned blue, im obviously not "allowed" to turn right on that road then??? Unbelivable...............................as for riding on it thats a total no no unless you want to end up as road kill. Theres always cars in the ditches its like skittles when it rains, one plonk ended up down a drain in his brand new cherokee jeep he stood by the side of it with his hands on his head, i had to resist the urge not to wave as i drove past!!!! Morons the lot of them!

If he collided with your 4 x4 and caused actual damage he has committed an offence by driving away and not exchanging names and addresses.
I hope you contacted the police (yes, I expect they don't want to know) and reported him with a description of his car.

If he did that much damage to a 4 x 4 im very surpised he was able to drive his own car away from the scene of the crash. To cause that much damage to a 4 x 4 it must have been a very severe impact

We live in a country lane leading to 2 schools one local and one private and the mums are horrendous they all drive like idiots on phones in their posh cars - its so bad we don't ride out before about 9.30 and between 3 and 4.30. My husband has had nearly 4 accidents all with mums on their phones. I am about to email both schools to suggest they send a warning in the next newsletter about slowing down and being aware of other traffic on the lanes.

With that thought in mind solitaire a couple of our local schools name and shame the number plates of drivers causing a problem - they are posted in either the newsletter, by parent-mail or on the school notice board - has helped in our school/pub car park a bit.

i must admitt hacking out these days is a real challenge in itself ,nine times out of ten by me the car will slow down and then they keep the clutch down and rev to scare the horses, my horses are used to it so dont really bother but would be quite worried if a youngster was out on the road.

Just be grateful no body was hurt me thinks XD.... That would cost a hell of a lot more...
Where I live it's the same problem as what Solitaire stated... People with more money than sense and a driving lisence from Mars.

Some drivers are awful. My little Section A was at UK Showing yesterday with her young 8 year old jockey onboard. Her mum told me after the evening they where walking back through the box park (on site) to the field where the trailers where parked and some idiot in a Ford Galaxy got right up behind them all the way through. There was no where to move out the way as it was the main through way to the indoor so people and horses all over and as soon as they got to the gateway he revved the engine swore at them and steamed out missing the ponies back legs by inches and this was inside the grounds of a horse show. Good job our pony really is bombproof and she wasn't phased but the little girl on board was that rattled her mum couldnt get the reg before the guy drove off as she was trying to keep her calm. Couldn't believe it!
