RULES, CONDITIONS and GENERAL INFORMATION
1. NO BUSINESS CHEQUES ACCEPTED.
2. Please send LARGE (C5) SAE for return numbers.
3. Prize money MUST be collected from the Secretary’s desk on the day of the show. Failure to do so will render the prize money forfeit.
4. No Substitution entries are allowed.
5. It is the exhibitor’s responsibility to ensure they have entered the correct class and that any clash of classes the show cannot be held responsible, Classes will not be held up.
6. Entries are accepted on the understanding that Exhibitors have read the rules and agree to abide by the various society rules and the rules of the show.
7. All stallions and colts two years old and over must have a current Stallion licence. Unless governed by their individual Breed Society. Exhibitor may be asked to produce this licence in the ring or prior to entry.
8. Mares with foals must be four years or over. Three year old fillies with foals are not eligible to enter. All foals must be at least three weeks old on show day and accompany their dams in the ring.
9. Any animal not sufficiently under control shall be removed immediately without question at the request of: a Judge, Steward or an official.
10. Any person wishing to lodge at protest having reference to any person or exhibit shall do so in writing, whilst the class is in the ring, and at the same time deposit the sum of £50 with the Show Secretary. If on Investigation by members of the Show Committee the protest is not sustained the deposit shall be forfeited to the funds of the show.
11. The decision of the judge is final. Each exhibitor shall abide by and accept the decision of Judges and referees who shall have power in their uncontrolled discretion to withhold any prize for the lack of competition in any class or otherwise.
12. The National Pony Society Area 5 committee nor any of its Officers, Servants or Assistants shall not be in any way responsible or accountable for any loss, injury or damage to any person, animal vehicle or property in connection with or arising out of this show.
13. It is the exhibitor’s responsibility to have their animal correctly insured.
14. The exhibitor MUST pay by for any treatment by the Show Vet by direct arrangement with the Vet. The Show is not responsible in any way.
15. Please note that spurs are NOT allowed in NPS classes.
16. Exhibitors are requested to study the various Societies rules for the qualifiers listed.
17. Public Liability Insurance, which is strongly recommended, is the responsibility of the exhibitor.
18. Handlers of Stallions and Colts must have attained their 14th birthday in the current year to compete in any class at this show and riders must have attained their 11th birthday by the 1st January in the current season for any small breed or any pony not exceeding 138cms and their 14th birthday when riding large breeds.
19. NPS Championship qualifying rules. NPS Mountain and Moorland Qualifying Rounds: These classes are judged under the Rules of the NPS. Ponies must be registered in the main body of their respective Mountain & Moorland Stud Books. Part breeds are not eligible.
20. Qualifying rounds for most NPS competitions are open to ponies owned by NPS members and non-members but only ponies owned by adult NPS members are eligible to qualify for the final of the competition.
21. The highest placed pony owned by an NPS member in each class will qualify for the Final. Where this pony has already qualified the pony standing next in line which is owned by an NPS member and has not already qualified receives the qualification. Qualification may go no lower than 3rd place.
22. Judges and/or stewards are requested to check membership cards prior to presenting the qualifying rosettes. NPS Adult/Standard members will be required to upgrade to Full members to enter the Final.
23. NPS Show Pony and Show Hunter Pony Qualifying Rounds: These classes are judged under the Rules of the NPS. Ponies must be registered in the NPS British Riding Pony Stud Book, Register or Appendix, the GSB, the AHSB, the AASB or in the main body of their respective Mountain & Moorland Stud Books. Part-Breeds are not eligible unless entered in the NPS British Riding Pony Stud Book, Register or Appendix. Ponies must be plaited. Qualifying rounds are open to ponies owned by NPS members and non-members but only ponies owned by adult NPS members are eligible to qualify for the final of the competition. The highest placed pony owned by an NPS member in each class will qualify for the Final. Where this pony has already qualified the pony standing next in line which is owned by an NPS member, and has not already qualified, receives the qualification. 24. The NPS/Rosettes Direct Home Produced Ridden National Championship
This championship is for Home Produced ridden stallions, mares and geldings. Ponies which are either stabled at home or in a DIY yard and which since 1st January in the current year have not been shown by a producer or stabled in a producer’s yard other than on a DIY basis or at stud. Ponies shown in these classes must be produced and shown by the owner/spouse or his/her immediate family, which does not derive income from working with ponies or horses. Please enter this class in the spirit it is intended. Competitors who contravene the above will be disqualified.
a) Qualifying rounds for this competition are run in conjunction with other NPS open ridden classes. The owner need not be an NPS member for the pony to enter this competition but only ponies owned by NPS members can qualify for the final.
25. The highest placed pony in each class, owned by an NPS member and ridden by a person wearing a white arm band qualifies for the final. Where this pony has already qualified the pony standing next in line, which is owned by an NPS member and ridden by a person wearing a white arm band, receives the qualification on.
26. Riders of eligible ponies must wear a white arm band to indicate their Home Produced status.
27. THE HOYS QUALIFICATION IS SUBJECT TO CONFIRMATION FROM HOYS OFFICE.
28. Ponies Association (UK). THE TOP THREE EXHIBITS IN EACH ELIGIBLE CLASS WILL QUALIFY.
29. This show is qualifier for the NCPA Pony of the Year Show and Part-Bred Welsh Ridden Championships to be held at Uttoxter Race Course on Sunday 11th September 2011. First and second prize-winners in appropriate classes will qualify. Qualification cards must be presented with the rosettes in the ring.
30. NCPA Star rosettes will be awarded in classes; 30, 57 & 96 to the highest placed member. Membership badges must be worn and current membership card produced in the ring.
31. The committee reserves the right to divide, amalgamate or cancel classes depending on the number of entries received.
32. PLEASE NOTE THAT IT IS AN OFFENCE TO TIE HORSE/PONIES TO THE OUTSIDE OF A WAGON, TRAILER OR ANY VEHICLE OR OTHER STRUCTURE AND LEAVE IT UNATTENDED.
33. Horseboxes, Vehicles towing trailers and other motor vehicles MUST park where directed to avoid congestion. Failure to comply with this request will lead to you being asked to leave the Showground immediately and all entries forfeited.

iv) Qualified for the M&M Novice or Intermediate Ridden final at the NPS Summer Championship show
v) Qualified for the M&M Ridden Championship final at Olympia in previous years

NPS mountain & Moorland Ridden Silver Medal Rosette Championship is offered by the National Pony Society for the best registered pony in the Ridden Mountain and Moorland Open ridden Section.
To be judged under the Rules of the NPS. NPS Silver Medal Rosettes are only awarded when the Owner of the champion pony is a Member of the NPS. A valid membership card must be in the Rider’s/Handler’s possession on entering the ring and be produced immediately on request by either the judge or the steward. If the Owner of the Champion pony is not a Member, or the Owner’s membership card is not immediately produced, the rosette may be awarded to the Reserve Champion provided they have the required membership card. If the Champion pony has previously qualified it is still entitled to the Silver Medal Rosette but the Qualification Card goes to the Reserve Champion pony, provided the Owner of that pony is a Member of the NPS. The Silver Medal Rosette and the Qualification Card can be awarded no lower than first Reserve.
Qualifiers are entitled to compete in the final of the Silver Medal Rosette Championship to be held at the NPS Summer Championship Show 3rd – 5th August 2011

If the Supreme or Reserve has already qualified, qualification may go to third but no lower.

Ponies of 148cm & under will not be ridden by the judge at any Cherif Championship qualifying show, but will give an individual show. These ponies will be ridden by a lightweight adult at the final.

This is a qualifier for the CHERIF Championships 2010. The final will be held at the Cherif Championship Show, Addington Manor Equestrian Centre, Addington, Bucks in September 2010. All details and qualifying cards at £20 each (payable to Cherif Championship) from: Miss L. Temple, The Stables, Ashton Gifford Lane, Codford, Wiltshire. BA12 0JX. If the Champion pony has previously qualified it is still entitled to the Silver Medal Rosette but the Qualification Card goes to the Reserve Champion pony, provided the Owner of that pony is a Member of the NPS. The Silver Medal Rosette and the Qualification Card can be awarded no lower than first Reserve.
Qualifiers are entitled to compete in the final of the Silver Medal Rosette Championship to be held at the NPS Summer Championship Show 3rd – 5th August 2011.

These classes are open to Mountain & Moorland ponies registered in the main body of their respective Mountain & Moorland stud book.
The winner of each class will go forward to the final to be held at the NPS Summer Championship Show at Malvern in August.
These classes are open to registered Mountain and Moorland ponies which are either stabled at home or in a DIY yard and which since 1st January in the current year have not been shown by a producer or stabled in a producer’s yard other than on a DIY basis or at stud. Ponies shown in these classes must be produced and shown by the owner/spouse, or his/her immediate family who does not derive income from working with ponies or horses. Please enter this class in the spirit it is intended. Competitors who contravene the above will be disqualified.

The NPS/PRP EQUESTRIAN RESCUE M&M Working Hunter Pony Royal International Horse Show Championship
Stallions, mares and geldings five years old or over, registered in the main body of their respective Breed Society stud book. Ponies may be measured at the judge’s discretion.
Three classes as follows:
Class 59 - Ponies not exceeding 122 cms
Class 60 – Ponies exceeding 122 cms but not exceeding 138 cms
Class 61 – Ponies exceeding 138 cms but not exceeding 148 cms (with the exception of Dales and Welsh D Cobs)
Rider any age, except stallions (see rules in section A 3.2). Riders may only ride one pony in each class. The owner has to be a Full member of the NPS for the pony to enter this competition. The rider must show the owner’s membership card to the steward as the pony enters the ring. (N.B. At the final at Hickstead the rider must also be an NPS member) The highest placed pony, in each class goes forward to the final at RIHS. Where this pony has already qualified the pony standing next in line, which is owned by an NPS member and has not already qualified, receives the qualification. Qualification may go no lower than third place (N.B. Qualification has to be verified by the NPS Office, within 8 weeks of qualifying the pony’s JMB height certificate must be sent to the NPS Office for validation. Standard members will be required to upgrade to Showing to enter the final. Instructions for entering ponies in the RIHS final at Hickstead are printed on the qualification card. Entries are the responsibility of the owner and are made directly to RIHS.) The course will consist of a minimum of twelve fences, a minimum of two of which must be spreads. A water jump and a water splash, as well as a change of direction, must be included. If a hazard is included, it will be numbered and judged as a fence.

Open to registered pure bred M&M stallions, mares and geldings, five years old or over. Ponies never to have qualified for the NPS M&M Working Hunter Pony (HOYS/RIHS) finals before 1st January in the
current year. Riders may only ride one pony in each class
NPS/ The Bowling Family M&M Novice Working Hunter Pony National Championship
Stallions, mares and geldings four years old or over, registered in the main body of their respective Breed Society stud book. Ponies may be measured at the judge’s discretion. A pony is not eligible to compete if, before 1st January in the current year, it has done any of the following:
i) Won an open NPS affiliated M&M WHP class
ii) Won a class at an M&M WHP (HOYS or RIHS) qualifying round
iii) Qualified for the NPS M&M Novice or Intermediate WHP final at the NPS Summer Championship show
iv) Qualified for an M&M WHP final at HOYS or RIHS in previous years or in the current year
v) (N.B. Ponies can compete as novices for two consecutive years provided they do not enter the final in the first year).
