Not had the best week, so I'm going to bore you all with a big rant! Start off with
Monday - when my ponies weren't tucking into their haylage as usual so i rang my local farmer and said this bale isn't the best, so he says I will have another batch tommorow - which is fair enough because my ponies are fussy- anyway forgot so left it till
Wednesday- when one of them had ate nothing all night and day, so again i rang and got the reply well i'm not getting any more till saturday, So what am i supposed to do? Leave it with me a day or two he said! Err no the poor sods haven't ate anything for 24hours!! So i dragged my dad and his 4x4 to another local supplier who had one small bale of hay left! (which isn't going to last too long with 2 welsh D's). But what else could I do?
Thursday - My Dad went back up to the other supplier and luckily the farmer there had baled some more hay and put it aside but still only small bales. Meanwhile still nothing from our usual supplier
Friday - The usual farmer had delivered a new bale of haylage but not picked up the old 1. Anyway there was only me on the yard that night so I couldn't roll it into the barn my self so I had to leave it and use the small hay.
Saturday (today) - After being at work from 7am - 3pm and all the rain! So my usual walking route to the yard was flooded so had to go a different way which takes me 10 mins not 5! In the terrential rain! To find the barn and feed room flooded so the small bales of hay ruined. Managed to get the big haylage in opened it and the stench was awful it was black with slime! So again rang the farmer and he said well I can't come now its too late. Ok I have enough till morning but need it 1st thing! "well I don't work sundays". He must have noticed the annoyed silence down the phone and quickly changed his mind and said i'll be there 1st thing tommorow!
Thanks guys I feel much better now. If you got to here well done xx
