feeling a bit disheartened some one said to me whilst i was riding that i was to big for my pony my legs are hardly even below his tummy and he is certainly not struggling to carry me, so how am i too big? this is the second time she has said it to me both times have resulted in me being paranoid i appreciate that she has her own opinion, but why does she have to open her mouth and make me feel so self conscious. moan over

I dont think you look to big at the moment , i know your legs are quite long but you are not to long in the body so the picture still looks good . There are far bigger jockeys riding M&Ms . Just ignore this person they are just being bit*hy . BTW you are nice and slim so no way are you to heavy on him . If you shoot up in the next year you may be to big but for now you look fine on him

ride your pony until you feel you are to big for him, you are slim so your weight is not an issue, my slim daughter has the same problem, she loves a 12hh welsh A we own, but is fast outgrowing him, others tell her she is starting to get too big for him, i am trying to get her to move on gradually to compete more classes on our 13hh ponies, eventually i hope that she will prefer and feel more comfortable riding them and the welsh A can then move on to a smaller rider. this will then happen with the 13hh ponies and she will move on to 14hh plus ponies or eventually horses. Most children continually go through this process unless for different reasons they are over horsed (size wise) at a young age, i feel it is better to be on a smaller pony you feel happy on than a larger pony that you don't

your so slim!! you are tall on him but not too tall at all! you go really well together, im growing out of my 13.0 welsh part bred and im dreading the day i get told im too big, and im the smallest 15 year old ever! mine is quite chunky so can hold more weight than a slimmer 13hh so i dont think im in any danger yet just like you, i hate the thourght that i will outgrow him but it will happen so enjoy being great for him, you clearly love each other and theres no way hes going anywhere fast! some people are just jelous as your pony is stunning, chin up and rise above people that are jelous! x

There is no way you look big on him! she's just scared of the competition I'm 14 and 5ft1 and i'm still on an 11.2 section A,wouldn't have it any other way. I adore my pony,he's my beasty,he carries me no problem at all, jumping 2ft x country fences with ease! your so skinny, unless you shoot up masses you've got a good couple of years left xx

I know a lot of show riders ride with quite short stirrups but if you had your stirrups at a more dressage length you would look a little tall, but you get away with it by riding with shorter stirrups.
Your are certainly not too heavy by any stretch of the imagination and there is no welfare issue but perhaps someone who does not know about showing might think you are starting to look a little tall.

You are not too big. You legs are a little long and because they are slim give the illusion of being longer.
I shall be an Equine Gok and say you should boil wash your canary jods so they are not quite so vibrant or go more beige as the jods are the first thing that the eye goes to and so the legs are noticed. I would also see if you could comfortably change your position somewhat so your hips are more open and your knees are not in such a sharp rightish angle.

Our YM is always telling Hannah she is too big on all our ponies- an 11.3, a 13hh, a 14hh and a chunky 13.2 fell, I agree she is big on the two smaller ones but they carry her with ease so I'm not worried. YM says he can't understand why us mums buy these small ponies that may only last one or two years, I can't get him to understand that over horsing a child could put them off for life and that my two big ones could carry a small adult. You look fine on yours 'ears pricked' take no notice

You have a tall body and ultra slim legs its just an illusion in no way does it look bad, you two look fantastic together. Next time she says anything tell her to shove it. You have had enough people say you look great to know you do, and you do. Next time you ride him, smile and dont worry, shes just trying to make herself feel better putting you down xxxxxx

I get this from un horsey dog walkers if I hack my kids welsh a's out through the winter when its too cold for them to do it. I only walk and a small amount of trot. You can hear them chuntering as I go past. God help me if they ever see me on the shetland!
