the outdoor ones are fine LP - just the usual show stables. To be honest i prefer the outdoot ones at equifest cos the year we went we managed to park right behind them - not walking for miles and it meant the girls could safely go and check their ponies - literally 50 yards from lorry to stables!

Dont like the sound of this as a have young ponies that dont like the 'FLAPPY' roufes , so i would prefere them to be in the indoor so i know they r happy , as i have done every year i have become a member just for the benifit of the indoor stables ,for my horses sake , i am now worried i will have to pay extra and sponsor , because i will not be going if i cant get indoor stabling :S:S:S:S:S

the outdoor stables are plenty big enough we had my big worker in them last year and he had plenty of room, liked the fact you could park infront of the stables so you could hear the horses , shame we wont be going this year due to poor schedule

like you amistad, I took have paid for my membership already just to get indoor stables like the last 2 years. Feel I have bought into something without knowing about the stables, and may not have been a member then. I'm not sure how well the stables will hold up on my sweet itch pony and I have another whom hates the flapping roofs. Nor are there any lights and I do some evening perforamces, how am I suppose to get ready???

Thank you, but Rule 7 states that members and sponsors will get priority on indoor stables I'll ring them on Monday and find out as , like you, I am only a member to get indoor boxes.

Unfortunately this year we have had to make the decision to offer the indoor stables to sponsors as first priority as we ran out so quickly last year. If there are any left over then they will be offered to Equifest members according to the date of application. The indoor stabling forms have already gone out to sponsors. The Red stables (outdoor stables adjacent to the indoor stables) will be offered to Members only this year - and we are putting less stables in this area as this area was very congested. The stables are all at least 10 x 10. There are some stables that are 10 x 12. The majority of these larger stables will be in the Red area and a few in the Blue area. We are putting an additional 50 "day" stables on the hard standing area by the Indoor Arena - which will be reserved as a priority for Hackneys and In Hand exhibitors. The stabling forms, showground map and entry forms will be put on the Equifest website on Monday. If you have any queries when you see these, please do not hesitate to call / email me. The email address is: bbranyan@eastofengland.org.uk and the phone number is: 01733 234451.

We had outdoor stabling last year over by the showjumping rings/back of the inside arena. It was great - lots of room to camp, very quiet and great floodlights which were on until about 11pm so you could see perfectly well. The stables themselves were very big and didn't flap at all - even with all the wind and rain that we had last year. There was water points everywhere and they were on the grass so nice soft floors - not like the outdoor stables next to the indoor ones which have chippings on the floor. To be honest I would rather have been staying in one of them instead of my tent - didn't feel safe at all!!!!!

The outdoor stables are great so i wouldnt get in a panic about it, plenty of room, also the biggest temporary stables ive seen at a chmpionship show too and not flappy! We found the outdoor stables great as you can literally put your tent up or park your lorry outside your stable so if your worrying about your horses, you'll be close enough to keep an eye on them.
I agree competitors need to be kept happy but also sponsors are needed to keep the show running so successfully!

The outdoor stables seemed much bigger than the indoor ones.... bigger than the normal stables used at championship shows. And not at all flappy.....

So which outdoor stables are on grass? I was going to become a member for the indoor stables (& still might for the entry fee reduction) but I don't fancy stabling on hard ground!

we had friends who said their outdoors where wet through last year not sure where she was though they moved them indoors .i wouldnt mind being outside but if its at all windy and roof makes slightest flap my mare will be over the door pronto she really has a bad phobia about that sort of thing shes still terrified of her rugs after 8 yrs wearing them so she isnt going to get used to canva roofs any time soon ,i really am gutted .

Maybe the sponsors could be limited as to how many stables they could have so that some of the indoor stables could be kept for members on a first come first served basis? I know at PUK some of the sponsors who have indoor stables use a full stable as a tack room which I think is taking the p**s a little - if this was to happen here then I think that is unfair to others who could be using the stables for what they are meant for.
As I have said previously though - the temporary stables DO NOT flap - they are put up by a huge machine which stretches them taught. (we were there when they took them down so saw the process in reverse). The ones that got wet last year only got wet due to the fact that on the Saturday evening it never stopped raining (and very hard) and it blew a gale all night! Our tents were in danger of blowing away and I would have happily have rather slept in my ponies stables - they were snug and warm, unlike us!!!!!

I am probably going to be shot down in flames but indoor stabling is NOT the only advantage to membership for Equifest. Members do get cheaper entries If you work out your membership reduced entry costs against the non-membership entry fees - it does work out to making a saving - obviously it depends on how many classes you do to how much. I feel it is very harsh to start calling Equifest a show for the elite - look at the difference at the cost of class entries between Equifest and PUK etc. Also Kt66horses the sponsors are limited to how many stables they can book and I believe that if there are any indoor stables left then they will be offered to members on a first come fist served basis and I agree Kt66horses regarding your comments about the tempory stables DO NOT flap.

very disappointed .. we have been members every year since it started and have always had the indoor stables ~ i have a disability and need the extra room under cover to see to my ponies .. will defo be having a rethink now even tho i paid my 2011 membership some months ago ... i know sponsors are important but hey, everything's worked fine in previous years so why change now? thought this show was 'the people's show' for everyone and not just the elite ... not all of us have the dosh to sponsor as it aint cheap! i think so many sponsor stables get taken up because people club together in a group to sponsor I'll probably get shot down in flames but thats the only way I could afford to sponsor is to get a group of us together.
