Yesterday was one of the saddest days ever not only for me but Sue Hughes too, my beautiful broodmare Emma was pts due to colic with only a few weeks left to foal, it was so quick the vets could do nothing to save either her or the foal,my heart goes out to Sue because it was Buckthorns 1st long awaited foal for Sue and we had only said last week Emma could stay on at Sue's and breed her some lovely youngstock like she has left here. Emma was such a special mare never a bit of bother from the day she was born hence the name Sweeetheart she was also very special to Sue as she was by her stallion Sugarbrook Whinfield. I would like to say a BIG Thank you to Sue for all the love and care she gave Emma right upto the end and Rufford vets who did everything possible to save her,
