I hope you get that year too, but whatever time you have left will hopefully give you some lovely memories Thank you angel, Vets called today to say biopsy came and it is not the cancer we thought it was, but unfortunately still the same outcome. Vet seems hopeful that specialist will be able to really help for the quality of the rest or her life, and my friend came and gave her reiki yesterday which jade seemed to love, We both got licked to death during it ;D Kat said Jade needs this healing and will be back on Sunday to give her more so I am really pleased about that. xxxx |

Teri i hope you and her get another wonderful year xx Thank you!! xx Have got appointment at D**k Whites Refferals next Tuesday, Biopsy results came back, Not actually OS as vets thought but a spidle cell tumour, After I googled it I was quite hopeful that this was a much better Cancer - if there is such a thing, but the vet told me not to get my hopes up. Most of what I have read said unless it is a high grade tumour which are quite rare, it is a very slow progressing tumour. I prob shouldn't get my hopes up though, and just wait to see what the specialists say. But all my fingers and toes crossed that this means she may have a little longer with me and that year may just be possible!!! |

my heart breaks for you.. I have been in a very similar position last year as a lot of my pals know. Only you know when the time is right, she will let you know, believe me.
in one way, you are now prepared for the inevitable, but dont let that tarnish the time you have left with her. Treat her as if she was normal and enjoy her as much as you always have. She is a beautiful girl. Good luck..

thank you, so sorry to hear you have been going through a similar thing, it is so hard when you love them so much!!
Jade has gone into the specialists today to have some scans to see if the cancer has spread anywhere else, then we can decide what treatment will be best for her and hopefully get a better idea of how long she will be with me for. Will keep you posted xxx

Thank you S&O and Brindlerainbow. Worst fears confirmed the cancer has spread to Jades liver and spleen. Vets can't give me the answer I want to hear regarding time she has left, they have been fantastic at willy Whites but due to the area it has spread have no idea how much time she has left, only saving grace is that it has not spread to the lungs. She is now home and not going anywhere else for now. Vets said she will either deteriorate or worst case the liver will erupt and she will collapse. This obviously really scares me so am going to get a web cam set up in her room so when I am at work I can keep an eye on her. She is now on low grade chemo tablets as they should not make her poorly and hopefully stop the cancer spreading anywhere else. Jade is in really good spirits at the moment and her and Tyler are going to get star treatment from here on out! Vets said I will notice her appetite to reduce when she starts getting worse so off to Tesco to stock up on her favourite chicken breasts!! Luckily Tyler prefers mince so can get away with Tesco value!! ;D Again thank you all so much for the support you have all helped me so much through this. Some people may think it is just a dog but I don't have children and my dogs are my Kids. Sure those of you with kids will think me stupid as they are not human, but they are to me!!! I am so no technology minded if any one knows of a good and not too expensive webcam and where to get please let me know xxxx |
