Well I had a very interesting visit to see a pony that i had seen forsale yesterday the words not as described pops to mind lol .advertised as id/cob 14.2hh still growing 4yrs excellent to ride ect .rang and spoke to the owner she was very sweet and sang her girls praises sounded easy ride and i thought she would suit the girls i am looking for a pony for she then tells me i can go and look but cant buy untill after friday as she has a man coming to see her who cant make it till friday and she has given him first refusal ,at this point i politley pointed out that she may regret that as he may not turn up and she may lose a sale by putting people off ,anyway as pony not far from us we go and see it .
first immpression as she puts head over door looks very small door opens, yes small around 13,2hh ok not problem still big enough look at pony and tried to stop my jaw dropping lol this was a show hunter type pony carrying around twice its optimumn weight on its quite fine legs jesus so fat ,ok i thought bare paddock , nice looking pony really liked her so we had her tacked up ,pony quite jumpy in stable kind but nervy ,walking across to school its quite clear pony is very footy low heels quite wide feet flat feet mainley i would think due to weight of pony but she had gone on about about no shoes needed great feet hacks out anywhere with out the need for shoes ,well again not a problem my lads a farrier so easy to get that sorted .got to school on she gets up goes ponies back as if she was going to bronk didnt again in my view simpley because to fat to actually do anything remotley physical she did a few circuits of school in walk and trot long loose rein pony not really going anywhere no contact as she would have simply stopped moving asked for canter manged a few strides pony very very green not how she had described her as going well in school and hacking still not a problem still like pony as she had potential .left telling her to ring me when the man had been friday confident this 5ft 10 guy coming over 35 miles to view this id x cob would not be wanting to buy her as he would look a little under horsed lol anyway she texted me and asked what i would offer her for pony so she knew for when guy came friday she had advertised her at offers over £1500 inc tack so i politley said she wasnt what we had expected was grosley over weight and her feet were sore despite her thinking they were fine and that pony wasnt a cob and was greener than i expected but we did like her so would offer £1300 with tack or £1000 for pony ,i said i realised it wasnt as much as she wanted and to see what the man offered friday and let me know ,she promptley text back and stated how insulted she was by my comments about her pony that she wasnt footy or that fat and certainley not green in any way she going beutifully
and i wasnt going to pull the wool over her eyes 
i text back said sorry didnt mean to offend but that was how i saw her and good luck selling her ,just wish i could be there friday when this 5ft 10 inch chap turns up to ride this 13.2hh shp type thinking its a cob lol i know i would be annoyed if i had travelled further to view ,so its not just buyers who are time wasters but sellers too still cant help laughing at her view of the pony talk about rose coloured spectacles lol
