My boss is just too cool for school so are the other managers in my office - but I aint half getting the sh1ty jobs! More to the point I am a LOW wage and for the jobs Im getting past Im not happy with ..which some people don't actually believe that i am working for. BUT i know i have just got to grit my teeth! I know this is what I signed up for when I went back to college but it aint half bringing me down now the wage i mean.......... No actual reasoning behind this moan other than ARGHHHHHH!!!! I presume you are earning the minimum wage and you are quite young?
To be honest, you are very lucky to have any job at all right now so I would appreciate it and throw yourself into each and every job you are asked to do so that it will be noticed that you are a good worker and deserve time and money invested in you.

By the sounds of your post (although finding it very difficult to understand due to grammar and spelling) that you are at college and that you are working as an apprentice part time to gain experience. As others have said you are lucky to have a job at all. When I left school (which was not that long ago) I joined a YTS scheme working full time and only be paid £25 per week, however it was a job that set me up on a career path that I enjoy. We all have to do 'sh1tty' jobs as you call them. I am not sure how old you are but would suggest that you use this position to gain experience in working within an office and brush up on your English skills, which in turn will open doors to a job that is better paid and more enjoyable.

I think most apprenticeships pay about £90 per week, and fund you to go to college usually 1 day per week. Bear in mind that if you had to fund yourself going to college it would be fairly expensive so that's something that the company are paying for on your behalf.
My godson is struggling to find someone to take him on as an apprentice - even though he has some experience - the company where he started his apprenticeship has now folded. He is now working whatever hours he can get at his local tescos, in between job hunting, and has had to sell his car to go back to a motorbike just to make ends meet.
All in all I'd just tell yourself that there are people worse off than you, and just work hard and get your qualifications, then you can look for a job you will enjoy more.

The college found me my job (obviously had to be interviewed etc..) No, I dont got to college at all, it is all work based - I was unemployed for 2years! doing odd jobs whenever I could having my own place and bills to pay, but I had more 'spends' in those 2years than I do now But I suppose thats the way the world goes if you want to get ahead in life...!

I think the £90 a week rate they pay is disgraceful, but its better than the dole AND, generally speaking, qualifications help you secure your first job but after that its work experience that counts more. It's far, far more easy to get another job whilst you're already in a job too. Sales admin is an integral part of any business so its not unrelated to your business admin course and if given the choice I'd take someone with sales admin experience over general admin experience any day. So whilst I sympathise with you on the pay front I'd try to stick it out there for a while yet. Is there a possibility of being offered a permanent job there? What "sh itty" jobs are you being given? PS my own experience of these £90 apprentice schemes is mixed. My ex employer took on two girls on the scheme. They were doing or had just done a business admin course too. They were taken on as telesales execs, given zero training or support- just stuck on a desk with a phone on day one and told to start getting on with it! Needless to say within a month one walked out and the other one wanted to, but was saved the bother because she was sacked a week later for not making any appointments, but I don't believe they had any intention of keeping the girls on - they used them because they were cheap. Simple as. . In comparison your place sounds not so bad so stick at it. The work experience will still stand you in good stead

Thanks LastChance - I now realise how lucky I am within this company ..those poor girls and yes I can see your point of not beingon the dole! I am on a 2year contract here which obviously offers peace of mind, whilst I complete my NVQ's and basically the little jobs that have been passed from the MD right down to me and the other apprentice (who also has a moan) which nobody else wants to do ..and i can see why! Even had to mop the toilets the other day !.. Plus my tutor is meant to visit every 2 weeks - shes not been in in over 2months! which I am taking up with the college. I mean they arnt slave drivers, nothing near that and I do feel really at home with plenty of support but for the amount Im getting paid ............ HUFF! spoilt bratt maybe eh haha

The idea that some body originally studying admin, albeit even sales admin, is even let on to the phones to attempt to generate new business is utterly ridiculous. As much as people would or would not like to believe telesales/lead generation takes skills and is certainly not easy earning commission(s). I see this from employers so much intending to cut corners and save money...really they are saving no money because they are gaining no result. This is how telemarketing gets a bad reputation and more than half the time, we are professional and genuinely have some great deals or produce - believe me if I don't want/like it... I wouldn't sell it. I feel for those girls - studying for an administration postions and being thrown to the lions as telesales executives... d**n! sorry that is my rant over...I am loving this moaners section!!!! ;D

You should really get in touch with your college to get your assessor/trainer out asap!! I have to see all my apprentices at least once a month - some I see weekly.
