Sorry not happy for her to go off with foal at foot. But also do have her 5 year old TB daughter for sale by Bella Carroterre. Has had two runs in bumpers - not very quick!!!! Lovely looking mare, could have been Riding Horse but for wire scar on hind leg. Super temperament would definately breed show horses. Really want £2000 for her, could take a photo of her if you are interested. You cant pm me cos I still cant log on aaargh!!!! So just put a message back on here

I have a registered ID x TB mare that I bred myself for sale. She has bred one fantastic foal and is not in foal at present. She is for sale only as I do not want to breed anymore, although she is broken and has competed in dressage and showing. She is 15.1hh bay mare. She would not be a lot onf money and would only be for sale to a good home. Pm me if you want more info or pics please

It would only have taken a second to tell us you had found one, saved all the wasted posts and photo sending etc.

I agree........just a quick post to say that you'd found one would be nice.
Also, it makes me cross when people don't expect to pay a reasonable price for a broodmare. The mare is at least 50% of the resulting foal, probably more if we compare nature to nuture, so it makes sense to use the best possible and not breed from something 'cos it looks ok. Not saying that teddydogs mare isn't nice, I know nothing about it, and hopefully you have a bargain but it does annoy me that people don't want to pay for an animal of proven bloodlines, preferably proven under saddle and as a broodmare that can go on to produce many quality foals for you.
(Slinks off again!)

oh for goodness sake i havent said or done anything wrong i had forgotten all about the post on here i knew what i was looking for and i never said i didnt want to pay a decent price i just didnt want to pay thousands i dont see the need to especially with the winter upon us and the economy the way it is so please dont all start a witch hunt, ive seen it done on here too many times. Mods when you see this your more than welcome to take off the thread it is not needed as i have a lovely broodmare and made a friend out of it too which is what i thought this site was all about?? Bananaman be very careful the broodmare i have has definately proved herself which is why i have her to breed with my lovely stallion

Good lord i dont believe this, the mare that anotherdeal has off me is a lovely proven brood mare that i have only let go as she has bred us an outstanding filly and i want to have my own home bred brood mares with my prefix. So what you lot are on about i dont know!! Our 3 best brood mares are TB mares we bought straight out of racing for a few hundred pounds and they have repaid me with superb stock that have won at all the top county shows including Champion at the Royal. The above mare is the same quality if people want to pay for proven mares let them but the most expensive mare i bought with proven record under saddle never threw me a desent foal even when put to some very expensive stallions!! So bananaman get off your high horse. just because you pay through the nose for a mare doesnt mean she will do the job. Get real from someone who s family have been breeding horses for 3 generations!!

teddydog, I dont think anyone is criticising your mare she sounds lovely, I also get my mares out of training and the one I mentioned was only £800 and had a foal at foot by a champion winning sire, Its just that photos were sent and more as requested, she asked for my number and then zilch. Its not sour grapes, I have since sold the mare to a lovely home, I have bred for 40 years now , its just that more and more people were offering but no one was answering. No offence to you intended just a courteous response would have been enough. As asked for a couple of times by myself, she says she forgot about the thread, question answered no problem .

I take your point but i do think bananaman is out of order not every brood mare has to be proven. She is oviously not an experienced breeder like yourself. Well done on selling your mare and lets continue to buy those lovely ex race mares to breed us these lovely foals.

FGS teddydog, I certainly was NOT critising your mare as I said in my post.
And to say that I am OBVIOUSLY not an experienced breeder is SO wrong that it's funny. I have been in breeding for more than 25 years, working on and managing some of the top studs in the country as well as having bred some of my own. I too, have produced county and National show champions, I also hold the NPS Stud Diploma so I feel a little qualified to comment.
I realise that there are some stunning mares to come out of training and if you have a good eye, you would not have to pay a fortune. However breeding is always a gamble and I am astounded when people expect something for nothing. Of course a mare does not need to be proven but I would expect to pay extra for one that was, reducing the risk of her not being successful. One of my biggest bugbears is people breeding from a mare just because they don't know what else to do with her. (And before anyone starts yelling at me, I am NOT pointing fingers at anyone here, it is a generalisation, but something that happens far too often imo.)
I also was not having a pop at anotherdeal1, except to say that it would have been nice to have let folks know that she'd found something, and I'm sorry if it came over like that, but I stand by my belief that if you have a mare that is well bred, whose siblings have done well, who has done well herself and under saddle and bred a nice foal or two herself, that she should be worth more than a mare that has come off the track as a possible failed racehorse or a pony that has been turned away and not been anywhere. There is nothing to say that mare 1 would be the better producer over the other two but the chance of breeding a better animal MAY be higher with the one that is proven.

well i would have to say that anotherdeal was very quick to reply to me by pm and now has our lovely, proven broodmare. She very quickly responded to every pm and came to see Tabitha at the time agreed and took her with her striaght away, very nice to deal with and I am sure the mare has a lovely home.
