Just wanted to ask everyone with a gypsy cob to have a look at the TGCA website. Its a fantastic society for amateurs and professionals alike. It is for horses and ponies coloured and solids, both showing and jumping qualififying classes (the flying feathers) with a national championship in September. I also know that the TGCA are in discussion with HOYS re their own class for 2012. So get with it everyone! Membership is only £25........x. PS: I love seeing the traditionals jumping!

Thanks for that. It was a big decision to run the Flying Feather and I hope next year if enough interest comes back from the survey that their will be Airs above the Hairs Dressage - sorry for the bad names but they amuse me.
Flying Feather is intended to give everyone with a traditional a chance to find out if they can fly their feather and we are starting at 1'6 and going up to an open of 2'6. Stinky is banned as I am running it and I promise the course this year will be very simple and easy to do.
All the morning classes are open to all, including the workers which again we have set at 2' for under 14 hands and 2'3 for large to give people starting out at workers an easy introduction.
Finals are in the afternoon and there should be some of the best gypsy cobs in the UK in them.
Membership is £20 and overstamp £10 you just need to have joined us to attend TOYS.
TGCA is not a coloured society, it is for the gypsy cob breed of all sizes, colours and talents.

I would love to join. However I need to license storm as a stallion and having already forked out for chaps and bsps grading I just can't justify another vetting. Which is a shame as would have liked to have supported it

If he is graded then no vetting. Do you have DNA verification for him? Speak to Andrea whose details are on the tgca website and she can provide all you need to know. We have had Scottish shows and our final one is Keith Country Show - www.keithshow.org.uk/Northern championships. Keysoe was chosen as it is fairly central. We are on our second year and still growing and if in time we have enough members and following, then a northern championship could be possible in the future. We aim to cater for all gypsy cobs, from happy hackers to competative cobs in showing, dressage and jumping. We are the only association to offer classes for solid coloured cobs.

I hope so, we have qualified for the champs but its too far for us to travel. I've enjoyed competing in classes against others with hairys, instead of being in a general cob class with mostly maxi cobs. ;D
