Just wondering what breeds of dogs people like and which breeds they dont like and why. My absolute favourites are Boxers ( havent been with out one for 28 years!!!! ). They have masses of character, behave like puppies through out thier lives, are extremely affectionate and always do something that makes me laugh even if its something they shouldnt have done!!! Other breeds I really like are Deerhounds,Vizla's,English Pointers,German Pointers,Salukis and Border Terriers. Breeds im not so keen on are Malamutes,Huskies or anything really tiny

My C0ckerpoo, obviously, fantastic temperament with people and dogs alike, loves children and laps up any amount of attention, a real people dog who just wants to be with you. Very intelligent and trainable, we are often reduced to spelling certain words 'W-A-L-K, D-I-N-N-E-R', etc, because she's so quick to cotton on!
Also like border collies, dislike any out of control dog - although this is the fault of the owner not the dog! Can't bear it when people can't be bothered to train their dogs, then when they play up and embarrass them, they keep shouting at them and yanking on the poor dog's lead.

My favourite are rottwillers! I've grown up with them my whole life and love the breed, lots of people think they are an agresive dog but I think it really depends on the owners and the dogs up bringing. there is no bread that I totally dislike, as I believe quite a lot of 'faults' in dogs are man made and could be excused by the owners of the dogs, the one dog I would never have though is a border collie as I know to many mental ones! But that's just my opinion

I love staffies! Brillant temprement, amazing with children and exceptional on the ol' agility course! Agree with MM and hanandtill - fault the owners and not the dogs and do not generally dislike any breed. Do love the dogue de bordeaux though

Irish WH, Malamutes, Ibizan Hound (similar to Greyhound but with a more triangular head and huge ears) en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ibizan_HoundWorking cockers, Springers, and especially Wire haired Fox Terriers I used to hate Boxers but thanks to pals dog, kinda like them now, but couldn't have one, far too strong for me. I can't say i hate any breeds as I don't know them all.

I love loads of breeds such as Labs English Pointers Irish Setters Hungarian Visla's Irish Wolfhound Weimaraner's Beagles Rhodesian ridgebacks English Setter and many more ... I don't really hate any breeds but if i had to choose one it would be the pekingese mainly because of the way over excessive breeding to change the look of the breed has resulted in bad health problems to the breeds xxx

Love Border terriers that I have now, and also Old English sheepdogs, I used to breed/show/judge them but lost my last one six years ago, lovely loyal breed but lots of work keeping coats. Theres not really a breed I dislike, but i don't like to see some breeds that are being bred over exaggerated ( wrinkles/long backs/short legs etc )

I love all dogs but my absolute favourites are standard poodles and their crosses Not keen on Huskies, Malamutes, weimeraners or some terriers but there is good in every breed. Don't like yappers or snappers whatever breed, and love a dog with character - prefer exuberant to dull!

My favourite breed is the Russian Black Terriers, best dog i've ever owned, trying to find another but proving very hard indeed. i may have to settle for something else, so am currently looking at Giant Schnausers and leonburgers. I never liked JRT's until my little man came along, never snappy or yappy. Not keen on Border Collies (runs and hides) This is my RBT With his little mate

We had collies, lovely dogs but not suitable for all homes, they need so much stimulation and exercise both physical and mental, and cocker spaniels, I love cuddly spaniels too. But now our sheep and hence collie days are over, OH doesn't want another cocker so we are into sighthounds - a lurcher who is collie x travellers' saluki lurcher (not our mistake but we had her from 7 weeks old) and a rescue saluki. Very beautiful and sweet natured but not that bright and with a huge chase instinct so jumps 6' fences, chases anything that moves (he nearly had a Border terrier the other day, only because it tore through us at 100mph so he just thought lunch, if he'd met it being a dog he'd have been fine) and doesn't come back when called. Not exactly easy to own, especially when you breed ponies and still have a few grazing sheep about, and live in Surrey which is full of deer!

Thats what i mean about Collies, it's not that i don't like them but don't fit the bill for me as they need so much stimulation. My elderly father has always had collies and last year i took 2 section A s up to him for the winter. The collies love herding them and the ponies chase them and play back. it's ideal for them as keeps them all happy and often the collies are lay next to the ponies in the field. Problem is, i've now lost my 2 ponies as my dad won't let them come back home!!

Our dogs are not allowed in the fields with the livestock, but the lurcher plays games with the ponies, particularly the colts, both running up each side of the fence. The ponies could go away if they chose but don't!

It is weird that so many people dislike Huskeys. I have two beautiful Siberian Huskey boys and they are so well behaved and such loving dogs. They were a surprise breed for us as whilst we were looking for a dog didn't necessarily know what we wanted and were bought our boys by family. They are very people orientated and whilst they do get along with other dogs do prefer each others company or that of people. I have been really firm but fair with them since pups as had heard some real horror stories that would put anyone off the breed of them being wild and a real handful but they are so adorable. My sister and I made sure to get their socialising right and give the best chance at a successful start and turn them into well behaved dogs. Their training has really paid off and have had a lot of helpful advice from dogandbone on here which has helped so much. They are a firm favourite with everyone they meet. The farrier is their best friend and brings a football with him to keep them entertained everytime he visits. They are good around the horses and really looked after one of the ponies to stop her getting bored whilst on box rest. They would keep her company and wimper at her until she responded. She looks out for them when we arrive at the yard now. They are so well mannered and would never dream of chasing the horses or upsetting them at all.
Most people think the can't recall so can't be let off the lead but mine are so responsive and obedient. They have free run of the yard whilst we are there and will play in the empty field and know the places they can't go such as the horse field/in stables or any arenas. They are intelligent and do need a lot of interaction and can't be left alone due to the fact they are so people orientated (one of the reasons we got two but they still need people with them at all times). Wouldn't change them though and have really fallen for the breed.
